hmmm, good point you bring up.
To any newcomers on this thread, proceed with caution! (If you don;t know what I am talking about visit the thread posted above...)
Most days I find myself literally rolling out of bed and running out the door to get to classes. Everyone on my campus, and especially my classmates, have seen me looking pretty horrid (in my opinion at least). I don't care though. It took nursing school to get me out of the habit of having to look picture perfect before stepping one foot out the door. On clinical days I will take a little time to do my hair and put on a little bit of make-up, but that's all very minimal.
I find sleep to be more important than trying to look pretty for a bunch of people who won't spend more than a few seconds looking at me, and I'd prefer to dress as comfortably as possible for a 10 hour day filled with lectures.

Hmmm, this semester I cant be to fashionable, because I have many classes and Hesi, and NCLEX soon.
Just to the newcomers to clarify, last semester was a pretty easy semester, just one class so I had time to put a little make up on,do my hair right (layered),and wear some cute nursing shoes, however I'm in my final semester and I dont have the time to spend an hour everyday for myself, you know washing my hair (everyday there is),putting on make up and choosing clothes for myself,I rather spend that exact hour doing NCLEX questions...I think last semester students have an idea what I'm talking about...well anyway just to add no I'm not dirty and take a quick shower everyday and I still wear my cute nursing shoes to the clinical, hopefully that wont be an agenda when I start patient care next week!!
I am in 2nd year and I still get ready for nursing school and clinicals. Hair cute, makeup on, dressed in jeans and some cute top or a hoodie and a little perfume. I do not study so much that I cannot take care of myself, plus it makes me feel better to leave the house complete. I refuse to go to clinicals looking all haggerty! I always make myself look nice, because it makes me feel awake haha, and confident.

Hmmm, I find it hard to believe you can't find time to spend on your appearance. After all, I see nursing students in my hospital who have their hair done and are wearing makeup and have ironed their scrubs.

Yeah, but those are also the ones that look the most tired
No really, nothing wrong with getting up 5-10 minutes earlier to make yourself look nice if it's going to make your entire day better. Personally I get a big confidence boost if I know I look clean and professional, if not necessarily gorgeous. If it's important to you, just put it a little higher on the priority list and go to bed a little earlier at night.
