It has been painfully obvious at my school that the students that look like super models got GN jobs right away. Yeah the average looking students are starting to get job now too but they didn't land the first job they interviewed for like the good looking students did. How unfair is that. Has anyone else seen this at their school?
I would beware of being attractive nurse among other ugly nurses (which are the majority 99% I'm afraid, and if they are not ugly yet they will be). I am an attractive nurse with 2 years experience who was bullied by all the other new grad nurses on the floor including mgmt. BE CAREFUL you attractive nurses!!!
Wow...way to alienate millions of nurses!

Don't worry. By her own words and logic (and I quote)
"which are the majority 99% I'm afraid, and if they are not ugly yet they will be"
she will soon be joining the ranks of us nurse-heifers. If 99% of us are ugly, or though currently pretty destined to be ugly, what are the chances that she falls in the 1% that will be bee-ewtiful forever?

Thanks for this. No one in my class seems to believe me that a clinical rotation can impact your job prospects.
My clinical instructors made a big to do over students who managed to get hired in anticipation of graduation and licensure while still in school. It was as if they were deliberately comparing the rest of the clinical group to the successful stand outs.
I would no go overboard and say my looks are "oustanding" as I am only interested in doing my job as a nurse to the best of my ability. But when someone comes along and gets in my way to make trouble because they are "miserable" and "jealous" of someone that has it better then they do, that really makes me ANGRY!!! that tells me they are just there for the paycheck and don't really care about anything else. BY the way I don't display this "attitude" at work. I am only there to work if someone "reads" into an "attitude" then they don't really care about what they doing and only interested in taking pot shots at other people. Sad to say that nursing is such a stressful field it does take its toll on a person's looks, whether they like it or not, that's a fact I have seen it myself so don't deny it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would hire you, not just for your impeccable looks, but because you crack me up. It's like each new post holds a little surprise!

Majority of nurses are ugly? Oh dear. I bet that attitude helped you integrate with the team really well.
