I was just about to post this! Seems like we both regularly read our ENA updates via email, haha. Class one misdemeanor... should be felony IMO.
Yes, I read my ENA Weekly NewsLine! I believe it's a felony in WV, just one state over from us here in Virginny.

op: yeah, virginia!!! hopefully this catches on like wildfire across the country and includes all health care providers of all settings.

find out if your state is among them. assault of an "emergency services worker" (including ed staff) is a felony where i live.

Depends on the severity of the assault and/or battery, runs from misdemeanor to felonies here. It's a good start Virginia!
The last one that committed battery on me has felony charges pending.
