Hi Everybody.
I'm new to this board, but it seems that there are a lot of older/returning students here.
Just out of curiousity, how old are you and where are you in life???
I'm 33 and a SAHM to two children: dd(3), and ds(1). I'm hoping to get into UF's Accelerated BSN program next summer and somehow find time to balance it all....to be honest, it's a little intimidating to think about.
Good luck to us all!!!

I just discovered this wonderful site and am excited to be here. After being a paramedic and then USED as a nurse by cheapskate doctors....I'm going back to school to get the credentials for the pay. Why do the job and get ten bucks an hour for it? I've been an idiot long enough. I'm too old to go back to the ambulance....50.... I'm NOT dragging any more fatties who can walk down three flights of stairs or "victims" of car accidents with $$ in the eyes out of cars. Plus, I've outlived my useability at my skill level. No one, especially in FLORIDA will pay me for my 31 years of experience. They say you can either do it angry or inspired. I can either be living paycheck to paycheck in two years (got my core classes already) or I can have a real career that can transfer anywhere.
Hi everybody im new at this site. Im 36 yrs old i have 3 kids 16, 12, 4. No one is ever too old to go back to school no matter what you want to study.
Im done with my prereqs Im taking the NLN on Jan 12. Im sooo nervous about it everytime I think about it I get so stressed. I need some pointers or hints about the test to calm my nerves so I know what to expect. Ive been practicing the nln practice book but I still feel like Im not prepared enough. HELP PLEASE:smackingf
I am 34 years old with 4 kids. I dropped out of high school to have my oldest who is 15. Never really felt that I could hack school nor did I want to take the time for it. Got married for the 2nd time, had three kids in three years and have spent the last 10 years being a SAHM.
My oldest started high school this year and my baby started kindergarten. I wanted to be a role model for my children as well as wanted to start doing things for myself. I went to the school and found out that I had spent years lying to myself and telling myself that I couldn't do it.
The kids and DH are really behind me and I am determined to finish. I don't want to die wondering if I could have done it.

Hi everyone! I'm 29 and married with 2 young children. I just finished my prerequisites, and hope to start a diploma nursing program in either fall of 08, or spring of 09. Been working in an office too long, and getting bored, not to mention the pay also isn't that great. I've been going to school taking basics since 01 originally for a business degree, but decided business is not what I really want to do. Can't wait to start NS!!
I'll be 28 this year. I've got a husband (who is also in school) and two kitties :) If all goes well, he'll graduate from college in Dec 08 and I can apply for nursing school as soon as Spring of 09 (because of when I'll finish my prereqs). There are no jobs for his field out here though, so I'm worried that we might have to move to another state right when I would be able to actually start NS.
Im 29 and will start college for the first time ever in 6 days! A little nervous but excited at the same time. I will be working on prereqs and plan to apply for the LPN program in Fall 08 or Spring 09 (Im knocking out all but 2 prereqs this semester). Ive been a SAHM for the last 8 years to my 10, 6 and 3 yr old. Ive been wanting to do this for the last 10 years but always figured I would never be able to make it. One day about 4 months ago I thought long and hard and I decided it was time to quit putting it off and do it. I am ready to give it everything I have. My DH is behind me 100%
