I just started my second semester of Nursing and I was so excited that I got through fundamentals..but now I'm so nervous about med-surg because i feel like im never going remember anything..Please anyone tell me how to get through this and will i ever remember any of this while working as an RN ...

Im really new at this and I need help. Im a first semester student and I have 2 case studies that I need help with: 1) 67yr old man of italian descent lives with his wife of 40 yrs was just recently diagnosed with diabetes. He is frightened because his mother died from complications of diabetes when she was 68 yrs old. He is overweight at 230lbs. and states " I have to eat my pasta every sunday." 2) 19yr old female with new infant girl and she has no idea how to take care for an infant. Her husband travels alot, he is truck driver and is on the road for days at a time. Her parents live 200 miles away. I need to state the following, the learning need for the client, the domains of learning, and the available resources for the client. Please :bowingpursomeone help me get this started I need Ideas My mind is totally blank

Im going to put you on my buddylist also. I would love to exchange email with each other. My first day of spring semester is the 26th and its clinical day. im really psyched and I cant wait. The nursing dept. makes up the schedule for the first semester and they gave me evening clinicals 4-11pm . thank god my husband is supportive so hes going to help out with the kids. Any advice or pointers would be much appreciated.

Hi Najah nice to meet you. My name is Amina. I go to kingsborough I started there FEB. 2007 I took the NLN in Jan. and I just got accepted into their nursing program, I start the program on feb 26. Im real excited and nervous too I probably will take you up on that offer of help. Thank you, and youre right we are missed represented. When ever I meet someone new especially in school and they ask where am I from and get theyre suprised because they think middle eastern especially Palestine what do think they think? Terrorist, Hijab, and antisocial? Well anyway this is what need more people like me and you. I went to Hunter for a year,18yrs ago, OMG thats along time ago!!! So after 17yrs married 3 kids later I decided it was time to go back.I went to Hunter to get my transcript and I just felt like that was not the place for me.. it was the place for me back in 1989 but not for the Amina of 2008 dont get me wrong Hunter is great school and their nursing program is phenominal. WHOOHOO Im in, they called this afternoon and told me that Im in. Persistance pays off. I went to the everyday to show them that i was serious and i know that the program is not easy but to give me a chance. Thank God they listened.

They said that I met the criteria but that there not enough seats and that i should take the nln again but I really dont want go through that stress again. They dont know how i received the letter but I really think that they should me put me in. If there is a seat they might call me but i doubt it. Its just so insensitive of them to tell me that it was a mistake and that im not in. If was their mistake they should just accept it and put me in the program. its something that ive been waiting for a long time and worked hard toget this point. Im 36yrs old and wanted to achieve my nursing degree by the time im 40. Just pray for me. Thanks mashell

I received my acceptance letter, but then my school called me and said that I recieved it by accident. They said I should take the test again in may. Im so angry and confused. I feel so discouraged i dont feel like continuing. How can this happen? Any Advise?

yes Im done with my prereqs. I still have bio51 to do. I got 102 on nln. Im so bummed out. Im might take it over again in may. I have to appeal but Im praying i got in so i can start in the spring. did you take the nln.

these nln test are paper based and they take a couple of weeks for the results. Very nerve racking
