April 2008 NCLEX test takers, COME ON IN!

Published

Per the request of janina08 ;) I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :) :nurse:

Hi everyone:

Best to all of you!! I am taking the NCLEX on April 10th. Please count me!

Yes Micha. But I was doing this question on cd and it specifically said, the RN should stay by the pt's side for 15 minutes asking another RN to take care of her patients for those 15 minutes. That must mean, blood transfusion case is pretty serious requiring it to be delegated to the RN from the floor rather than the float nurse.

Like Jenny said, u can delegate the post op lap ambulating patient (as per question, no complications) even to the nurse aid.

Sorry, I don't know how to explain. I do understand ur frustration. I'm there many times through the week-weeks. I hope someone else will be able to explain it to u better.

hi yes i know now that patient with post laparotomy must encourage ambulation as possible if theres no complication and RN as a floater must have a more stable patient.thanks for all the explanation i was just answering without thinking..ngeek!!!:banghead:

yeah, im confused..because a patient with post laporotomy can ambulate immediately?the question wasnt so specific how many days post op is patient???so i dont know..

sorry to confuse you guys, I made up the question and didnt intend to confuse anyone. Anyone know how many days until a patient can ambulate post op...like with abdominal surgery? Or does it depend on the tolerance and comfort level of the patient?

2hrs 15min.. Not feeling nervous. Hmm this is strange. I usually do. Talk to everyone Later tonight.

hi

its funny but i had 75 q's and my test was very similar to what lvlytxnn...mentioned....i had close to 15 SATA..most of them infection

control..I too was scared why I kept getting similar questions ..that too towards the end.. but I PASSED so...all the best to you!!!..will pray for you!!!!

Makes me feel a little better. I felt OK after leaving the test center but I know people fail at 75 Q's. And having been out of school for such a long time, I think I might have failed. Everybody seems to have their own analysis of what all the SATA Q's mean and getting similar Q's on the same topic, so I really don't know WHAT to think right now.

I tested on 4/2 in Tokyo so it was really 4/1 California time. I'm wondering when the results will show up.

Good luck on your NCLEX success!

It's funny you mentioned infection control, I had loads of them yesterday. I've read somewhere here in AN that if a question keeps popping out, then you must be doing bad at it and the system is trying to get you to pass that part. I don't know if that's true though, because I really utilized the whiteboard thing to make a decision, and take infection control down, but they kept popping up. I also had 9 SATAs, 2 med calculations, and 2 basic IV calculations. Lots of priority, delegation and evaluation up to 265 questions again. I am scared today because the exam yesterday was easy compared to when I first tested, and the woman proctor was probably laughing at all the faces I was making throughout the exam. I came out of the test site relieved too. If I pass, I'm gonna cry, but if I fail, I'm gonna laugh at myself, and try again. No more hard feeelings towards myself, nclex torture is enough. hehehe!

tested in CA too...now the long wait begins again..

:lol2:

Sounds like my test. But I couldn't imagine going all the way to 265. I guess I must have done really bad at infection control and SATA Q's because they kept popping up. And seeing how my test was based on a majority of those questions, I really doubt that I passed, especially at 75 Q's.

Let me know when your results show up. I tested in Tokyo on 4/2 which was really CA 4/1 time at about 5 pm. I may be crying:cry: or laughing it up with you.:chuckle I will retest. No more putting it off for another 8 years.

Where would we count it in the TPAL equation?

Term?

So, where would Abortion - para (more than 20 weeks gestation) fall in GTPAL, besides in ABORTION? Anybody?

GRAVIDA

Term

Preterm

Abortion

Live births

Coz with abortion, we have two: 1) less than 20 weeks - we can count that in GRAVIDA

But more than 20 weeks - para, where can we count that it, besides in abortion? thanks

Sorry to ask a silly question.... when you say infection control questions aer you referring to like TB, measeles mumps... airborne, droplet and contact precaution,.... weather to wear a mask etc....

Although I am nervous, I am actually looking forward to getting this thing over with..... I wish I never failed to begin with, but no need focusing on the past.....

I got into an argument with my husband yesterday.... i think I am just stressing out.....

(He doesn't even know that I am taking the test on Monday )... He thinks I am going to an NCLEX REVIEW SESSION.... I didn't want to tell him b/c I just don't want any unnecessary pressure or stress.... he is very supportive but I just want to keep this to myself.... :uhoh3::uhoh3:)

Anyway, I will let him know when I pass.... by the grace of GOD!:bowingpur

I am so tired... I am going to do some questions today and tomorrow... then take 2 days off!!!!

Lets see what happens this time!
