April 2008 NCLEX test takers, COME ON IN!

Published

Per the request of janina08 ;) I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :) :nurse:

Although I am nervous, I am actually looking forward to getting this thing over with..... I wish I never failed to begin with, but no need focusing on the past.....

I got into an argument with my husband yesterday.... i think I am just stressing out.....

(He doesn't even know that I am taking the test on Monday )... He thinks I am going to an NCLEX REVIEW SESSION.... I didn't want to tell him b/c I just don't want any unnecessary pressure or stress.... he is very supportive but I just want to keep this to myself.... :uhoh3::uhoh3:)

Anyway, I will let him know when I pass.... by the grace of GOD!:bowingpur

I am so tired... I am going to do some questions today and tomorrow... then take 2 days off!!!!

Lets see what happens this time!

Goodluck genny you'll be fine...

So, where would Abortion - para (more than 20 weeks gestation) fall in GTPAL, besides in ABORTION? Anybody?

GRAVIDA

Term

Preterm

Abortion

Live births

Coz with abortion, we have two: 1) less than 20 weeks - we can count that in GRAVIDA

But more than 20 weeks - para, where can we count that it, besides in abortion? thanks

abortion will be counted as gravida because it occured before 20wks..

sorry to confuse you guys, I made up the question and didnt intend to confuse anyone. Anyone know how many days until a patient can ambulate post op...like with abdominal surgery? Or does it depend on the tolerance and comfort level of the patient?

usually 12-48 hours post op if tolerated and no complications depends on each individual.

A client with glacoma is given a prescription for pilocarpine ocular system. The nurse plans to include which of the following instructios to the client on how to use the medications:

a. apply one drop of solution four times a day

b. remove and replance the ocular system every 48 hours

c. apply 1/2 inch into the eye at bed time

d.check the eye each morning to make sure the system is in place

ok what do you do if you have NEVER heard of the pilocarpine ocular system.... how do you even go about answer a question wheny you don't remember the content???????:crying2::bluecry1::(

bleomycin: the major form of dose-limiting toxicity with bleomycin is injury to the lungs. it manifests initially as pneumonitis but can progress to severe pulmonary fibrosis and death. in addition to auscultation of lung sounds, pulmonary function studies should be monitored. :typing

just read between the questions, it says there,"pilocarpine ocular system", so it will direct you to anwer d.

Allright, I'm not sure if the computer shut off on 77 or 78. I got 75 and hit enter and thought, oh man. But I sucked it up and took a deep breath and rememberd that no matter what Im in God's hands. Kept focused, did two or threemare, and POW. It shut off. My first thought was oh crud is it break time. Then it says, this concludes or is the end or something like that.

Wow. It was AWSOME!!!! I cried. Yep, I'm a big man and I cried, a little. I know, know, know, I did'nt bomb it due to the fact I did what I said I was going to do. It took 4 hrs to get through 70-75 questions. Yes 4 hours. The hard ones I took extra time on and chose the best answer after going through the motions.

I had what felt like alot of SATA's, I had 2 or three math problems. I had everything you would expect. Even the crazy question that made you cock your head sideways like a dog, asking," uh, what?"

Thank you everyone for encouragement and prayer.

The rest of you April test takers. Go forward with confidence. God Bless.:yeah::yeah:

I fee the same way, I don't want the added stress so I'm not telling anybody when I'm taking it.:D It could be May, June, or July...I'll know from testing myself and seeing how I score(I'm only doing the lectures and studying with this course atm)....Soooo, I'll know after finishing the online Kaplan course I'm currently enrolled in.

it says "system" in the question and for me it meant like a thing that is applied inside the eye, so with the choices, option d is the only choice w/c indicates that it is a thing that is applied inside the eye....and check it out, in the question it says system...in choice d , there is syatem too.
