Applicants to Portland area Nursing Programs for 2015

Hi everyone! I am so excited that application season for 2015 is finally here. I am new to this board, but read several threads last year and learned a lot in preparation for my own applications. It would be great to hear from others who are in the same boat this year. :)

I have a BA in History, but have completed most of my pre-req's at PCC. My cumulative GPA is only 3.46, but my pre-req's will be a 4.0 (provided this Fall term continues to go well...) My top choice is UP, partly because I work for Providence and would love to continue to work for them as a nurse one day. I would also LOVE to go to OHSU of course! I am also applying to Linfield, PCC and possibly CCC. I am curious to hear which programs people are applying for. Such an exciting time to be moving towards our career goals!

@T1meK1ller - Unless OHSU pulls me off their alternate list for the accelerated BSN program - yes, I'll be accepting admission at Clackamas :)

Just curious... What did the CCC waitlist and acceptance emails look like. Can anyone post what it said minus all the other instruction stuff.

P.S. CCC cohort is 24 this year, officially.

What do you mean?

It basically says you're on an alternate list, there's a possibility you'll be offered admission so we'd like you to attend this mandatory orientation and you'll be emailed if you get offered admission. Does that answer your question?

I'm guessing that means you're on the waitlist, but not in the top 15 on the list.

BTW - got my email from MHCC. I was not accepted. I'm 100% fine with that. I really wasn't impressed with their interview style and I wasn't very interested in going there, so I'm glad someone else got a spot in place of me! Still waiting to hear from PCC, but I think I'm going to accept at CCC.

I got waitlisted at MHCC too, but I totally agree with your critique. I felt like their interview was the easiest but I also did really poorly at it, so I got what I deserved. I've heard it's a great program though and I'm glad for the people who got in! I accepted CCC a few days ago and I'm glad to have found my spot! Hope to see you there, ajw414!

You two that accepted at CCC... did any of you get any kind of confirmation that they received your letter of intent or any kind of acknowledgement?

This week has been crazy, so I haven't sent in my letter of intent. I planned on hand delivering it to the health admissions office on Monday on my lunch break.
