Applicants to Portland area Nursing Programs for 2015

U.S.A. Oregon

Published

Hi everyone! I am so excited that application season for 2015 is finally here. I am new to this board, but read several threads last year and learned a lot in preparation for my own applications. It would be great to hear from others who are in the same boat this year. :)

I have a BA in History, but have completed most of my pre-req's at PCC. My cumulative GPA is only 3.46, but my pre-req's will be a 4.0 (provided this Fall term continues to go well...) My top choice is UP, partly because I work for Providence and would love to continue to work for them as a nurse one day. I would also LOVE to go to OHSU of course! I am also applying to Linfield, PCC and possibly CCC. I am curious to hear which programs people are applying for. Such an exciting time to be moving towards our career goals!

Hi ! Did you have all your pre reqs complete when you applied ? All A's ? And is this your 1st year applying? Thank you so much :)

Hey! Yes, I had all of my pre-reqs finished when I applied, and all A's. It's my first year applying for nursing school. I applied at CCC, PCC, MHCC, and OHSU's ABSN program. I was accepted at CCC and waitlisted at PCC and OHSU. MHCC just flat out said they didn't want me...hahah! That's okay...I was actually hoping I wasn't accepted there. I want someone else to get the spot that WANTS to be there. I wasn't very happy with their application or interview processes.

sorry posted in the wrong area

Hello!

Asisming by your picture you were accepted And are now an almost accomplished graduate? Congrats! I have an interview coming up, and I am extremely nervous. Do you have any tips or remember any questions they had asked during the interview? Any and all help would be appreciated Greatly! Thanks for your time!

Where do you have an interview?

I'm in PCC's program now but I also applied to CCC and did their interview. The questions were very situational. For example, you see a colleague pocket a med and leave for the breakroom. What do you do?

Just always keep in mind why are you applying to any of these nursing schools, and why you want to be a nurse.
