  1. Thank you!
  2. Hello! I'm currently a practicing RN working on completing my bachelors degree. I'm working on an assignment geared towards preparing for grad school. I'm wondering if there are any advanced practice nurses willing to answer some simple interview questions! Thank you! Here are the questions Interviewee Data: Position Agency Type of graduate degree Institution the interviewee attended. Date of graduation Ask the following questions: What are the advantages of a graduate degree? Any suggestions about the application process? Did you have a personal interview during your graduate application process? If so, any thoughts or suggestions? What words of wisdom do you have for someone who wants to pursue a graduate degree? Reflecting back on your graduate experience, what would you have done differently? In your opinion, what is the key to success in graduate school? What did your path to graduate school look like? Did you work as an RN prior to pursuing your degree?
  3. Where do you have an interview? I'm in PCC's program now but I also applied to CCC and did their interview. The questions were very situational. For example, you see a colleague pocket a med and leave for the breakroom. What do you do?
  4. I was concerned when I applied because I had no experience in the field. I work as a pharmacy technician but that isn't considered. I had full GPA points, all prerequisites, and a degree. You just need to focus on getting as many points possible to get you to the second tier.
  5. I think that would work a lot better haha! But can you search for a group or do you need to be invited?
  6. Ok starting one! Search for PCC Nursing Class of 2017 :)
  7. Oh and for the proctored essay, just know why you want to be a nurse, qualities in yourself that would make a good nurse and so on. Look up prompts online and try to have ideas in mind because the time goes by crazy fast. We responded to three prompts in 50 minutes!
  8. Hello! Are you applying next year?? I applied to ccc and pcc and have been accepted into pcc! I had all my prerequisites completed with a 4.0. I completed my associates at pcc as well. I applied in 2014 but wasn't very hopeful- I had a couple B's and an AP English score that would have transferred as a C. I took that spring term to perfect my application- retook classes and completed my degree. I took this year off and continued to work full time as a pharm tech (which I did during school as well). Regardless of my grades I still felt like an underdog because a lot of the other applicants are CNAs. The only recommendation I can make is that you use your time to make your application as strong as possible.
  9. Has anyone started a facebook page for PCC??
  10. Oh Wow! I never would have guessed it would have been all over the place! Everything I hear says "be prepared for mon-fri 8-5". I just can't wait to find out more! Do you know if we all register for classes that may be offered at different times like we did with pre-reqs??
  11. How many hours has she been able to maintain and what's her schedule like??
  12. I feel the same! Part of me cannot wait and part of me wants the summer to go on forever cause I know I'll have no time afterwards! I'm super anxious to find out about the schedule. I'm going to have to work simultaneously so that's what scares me the most. Is anyone else in the same boat?
  13. Time to check your emails! I was accepted at PCC!!!! 😊
  14. What do you mean? It basically says you're on an alternate list, there's a possibility you'll be offered admission so we'd like you to attend this mandatory orientation and you'll be emailed if you get offered admission. Does that answer your question?
  15. I'm on the 15 people wait list! It's so unnerving not knowing whether you're #1 or #15 ugh!!!
