  1. Providence facilities negotiate their employment contracts through ONA. The information you’re looking for is likely listed publicly if you Google for the 2019-2021 contract year.
  2. The author's punctuation needs help, but what I find more distracting is what appears to be an inability to begin a sentence without a conjunction. Conjunctions are acceptable in this style of writing, unless they are overused. Based upon her poor sentence structure, tendency to be redundant and wordy, I recommend she take a hiatus from social media to read "Elements of Style" to avoid future embarrassment while overgeneralizing.

  4. Just to reinforce how varied the waitlist is and that higher grades overall bear little weight in ranking. I am #20 on the waitlist. I have a score of 356, an "A" in every class, except for 234, which I have a "B" in. Obviously, I lost four points on my essay. I live in the district.
  5. I think you could start a Facebook group. I'm sure that there will be folks who end up leaving/joining for various reasons, so maybe others can weigh in on whether they think it should be an open or closed group for now versus when the term actually starts.
  6. I couldn't help myself :) This probably doesn't help, but I'll tell you anyway, just in case. My confirmation slip arrived in the mail yesterday, or the day before.
  7. I did. I don't live in the area and decided to send my letter via priority mail so that I'd have a tracking number and wouldn't have to worry about whether it arrived.
  8. Sanguiano, your question would be the most logical option when deciding between two similar applicants. (Un)fortunately, it works in a more arbitrary way. On the 2015 application, it states the steps for resolving a tie. The first step will be what Kalesmommy outlined. If both students have an "A" or "B" in BI 231 then the tie will be broken in the following way: If Step 1 fails to break a tie, then: 2) Resident of Chemeketa Community College District. The district includes Marion, Polk, most of Yamhill, and part of Linn County. If Step 2 fails to break a tie, then: 3) Random selection will be used. A word to the wise: place little stock in any statement that contains "I've heard..." when a claim is made.
  9. So did I. Nicely done. I take it you're accepting their admission offer?
  10. They don't tell you where you are on the waitlist? Can I just say how much I despise the elusive nature of applying to nursing school and waiting on feedback? I've self-medicated with a weekly video game binge. I expected to be declined admission altogether, but was admitted. For anyone who is curious or for future applicants, this is my personal snapshot from my score sheet and interview experience: Scoresheet Point Breakdown GPA: 4.0 (40 points) All A & P completed?: Yes (5 points) All prerequisite coursework completed?: Yes (5 points) Prior degree: BS--- Majors: health science; social science/Minor: community health (1 point) Discretionary Points: Completion of microbiology (3 points) Point total: 54 Interview Impression/Experience I went into the interview convinced I didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting accepted for personal reasons, as well as a lack of discretionary points. Obviously I can't discuss the questions, but I can say that I'm not someone who relies solely on answers that would be considered safe. This is not to say that I'm uncouth or unprofessional. Additionally, I have the tendency to introduce humor (frequently at my own expense) at times where a situation becomes tense or stagnant. Congratulations to all who were accepted into the fun-size 2017 cohort.
  11. I am in a similar position and this is my first year applying to both schools. I have 54 Points and a 4.0 average for Clackamas. I took the proctored essay at Chemeketa, but apparently missed the mark? Followed the instructions verbatim, generated my essay ahead of time and sought feedback, yet I scored a 46/50. With my essay, my total points for Chemeketa will be 356, so I may have to hang out for a little bit and try to get in again next year. If you were offered admission to both programs, which would you choose?
  12. schicharro, I am interviewing in the morning on the first day. Congratulations on being offered an interview.
  13. You may have a better frame of reference as to whether 180 applicants is high or low if you consider that Chemeketa anticipates admitting 48-56 students in the upcoming cohort, with about 20 alternative spots.
  14. Hello Previous and Current Applicants- Does anyone know when Clackamas typically sends their notification email for the applicant interview?
