  1. My two cents is the vaccine is beneficial for those who are vulnerable. The risks don't outweigh the benefits for the young and healthy.
  2. She said her daughter is soon to be 12. I just gave my two cents. Is that considered misinformation right away?
  3. Just Google Maddie De Garay. She is 12 and she volunteered for the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine trial.
  4. Hospitals have questionnaires that nurses have to answer before every shift if they have COVID symptoms. My honest question is, if a nurse tested positive for COVID (vaccinated or not) she/he needs to stay home for 10 days or more to avoid spreading it. How does the vaccine helps with the patient's welfare? (A civil conversation would be great)
  5. Very old thread worth reviving. I disagree with some nurses who say basically suck it. here's my story. I applied for a morning shift part-time position however due to seniority it was granted to a tenured night shift nurse. Recently, there was an opening for a part-time position night shift, but it was granted to another tenured nurse, which I fully understand. Several weeks after I started in the unit, I started having a lot of medical problems like skin hives and severe insomnia. I have been to several doctors but without any answers. All my lab works were normal or negative, but I am having all these symptoms. I’ve been trying to manage in the last 6 months but recently I started having terrible eye pain, dizziness, and headaches. I had to call in 2 days in a row which I hate doing as I understand how vital each RN in every shift. With all these being said, I am requested to go part-time in the medical unit or if I can be released before my first year to move to another unit where I can work part-time. I understand that nursing as a profession was never meant to be stress-free. I love my job, but I need to listen to my body too. The last thing I want to do is to call in every week and be a burden to the staffing or show up to work with all these symptoms and perform mediocrely and compromise the welfare of my patients. work should not be a suck it up kinda environment. my body is in so much stress it is asking for help. there should be a halfway were management and the employees needs can both be met. My managers gave me a part time position and hoping to go on days. this is not about convenience. so while I understand you, it is just difficult for some.
  6. I have questions about the Providence RN Fellow Program: How many are they hiring? Is it yearly? How long is the program? What is the approximate pay?
  7. I graduated 2007 recently passed NCLEX I'm a foreign grad with few months of experience. I am still hoping for a call but I don't know the likelihood of being hired because most of the applicants graduated recently.
  8. Are you a fresh grad? I was interviewed too but I am not a new grad but without experience.
  9. Congrats! How many areas did you apply for?
  10. Did anyone get a call yet?
  11. On the paper that was given, the second round of interview will be between May 25th even until July. You only applied for PICU?
  12. AUGUST 2018 COHORT Did anybody apply last week, May 24th? I sat down with nurse managers that were available that time. The specialty didn't really matter to me. It was an interesting experience selling myself to them.
  13. I started this thread to update everyone who applied for the residency program of Legacy Health. We will specify the month and year for everyone's reference.
  14. I used the following in my 6 months of review: *Saunders - used it for only 2-3 months. I didn't really have the time to read all the time *NCLEX RN Mastery - which I think didn't really help me a lot as I finished answering it the first 3 months of my review. *UWorld - subscribed for 3 months. Mind you I got 25% in my sample test and eventually climbed up. If you take Uworld seriously, NCLEX is easier. Just weird though! *Mark Klimek Audio Recording - if you don't know the answer, his strategies are really helpful, especially in prioritization. *Sara of RegisteredNurseRN on Youtube - don't underestimate the importance of pathophysiology as this will really help for the SATA.
  15. Is the Residency qualification of "Less than 1-year experience RN" means after passing the NCLEX RN?
