Hi everyone! I am so excited that application season for 2015 is finally here. I am new to this board, but read several threads last year and learned a lot in preparation for my own applications. It would be great to hear from others who are in the same boat this year. :)
I have a BA in History, but have completed most of my pre-req's at PCC. My cumulative GPA is only 3.46, but my pre-req's will be a 4.0 (provided this Fall term continues to go well...) My top choice is UP, partly because I work for Providence and would love to continue to work for them as a nurse one day. I would also LOVE to go to OHSU of course! I am also applying to Linfield, PCC and possibly CCC. I am curious to hear which programs people are applying for. Such an exciting time to be moving towards our career goals!
Hi All!!! First of all i apologize for many comments. Please ignore them.
Those of you who applied to PCC, CCC and Chemeketa(did you have to take classes at Chem?) can you please tell me about your experience. Was is your first year? Did you get all A's ? Any work/volunteer experience ?
I am applying to Nursing school next year and reading this blog is motivational for me.
Thank you for your help!

This is my 2nd year applying. Last year, I applied near the deadline because I had just moved here and was trying to figure my "path" out. Didn't really "try," so to speak. I made some changes and grew up over the last year and made sure to turn in my application to PCC as soon as the app period opened up. I've been waiting on that essay invitation since October 15th. I had nearly all A-'s/A's and one B. The only 'experience' I turned in to PCC were my three years of being a CNA. Once I heard people turning in their volunteer experience too, I was worried about not getting in or looking well-rounded enough. I worried I made the mistake of omitting the hours of volunteering I've done in ICU's, Med Surgs, Oncology, and Skilled Rehab. BUT! I got in, and that is all that matters. Now I have to worry about getting through the program :)

Yeah, I wouldn't have guessed either! I suppose we shall find out during orientation and throughout the summer! As for registration, I figure we'll have permission to register for 'NURS' courses via mypcc now =)
I don't think anyone has made a Facebook page yet! You could start it
