  1. My advice is just to prepare as well as you can in advance. I made a list of dozens of potential questions and wrote out responses to each of them. Even though some of the questions I was asked at the real interviews weren't from my list, I could still structure my responses to include key points I wanted to make. Prepare for obvious questions, questions that aren't explicitly about nursing, and situational questions. Familiarize yourself with OCNE core competencies and that'll take you a long way. I also recommend asking someone to do a practice interview for you. I found that these preparations generally helped with both the interviews and the essays. It sounds like you're off to a great start and it's nice that you're thinking ahead! Best of luck to you! :)
  2. Nope, nothing yet!
  3. I'm so excited and so scared! I can only imagine how I'm going to feel when September rolls around! I haven't looked over the flash drive yet either, and maybe that's where I'll find what I'm after too. When I went to Mt.Hood's interview they made a really big deal over when you could get your CPR certification--it couldn't be too early in the summer because they didn't want it to lapse during the program. I wonder if CCC feels the same way. I'm also curious about health insurance since I'm quitting my job this fall, but I suppose I'll just go through the marketplace. Camerobe, that's how I did it!
  4. Congratulations!! Here's the Facebook group, everyone! Look for: Clackamas Community College Nursing - Class of 2017
  5. Oh shucks, it won't let me make one without inviting someone to join. If anyone wants to add me as a friend I'll take care of the rest!
  6. Clackamas :)
  7. I declined PCC by mail on Friday evening, so there should be one new spot open today or tomorrow! Good luck!
  8. Two things: 1. Should we start a Facebook group or wait on that? 2. If anyone is in the market for a roomie, let me know! I'm going to try to move a little closer to CCC this summer!
  9. I turned down my spot at OHSU Portland campus. Hopefully this will be good news to someone on the waitlist! Good luck to everyone. I really liked the people I met at my interview, so I can only imagine what a good group you'll have!
  10. I snail mailed and emailed mine (just to be sure!) and haven't received a confirmation.
  11. I got waitlisted at MHCC too, but I totally agree with your critique. I felt like their interview was the easiest but I also did really poorly at it, so I got what I deserved. I've heard it's a great program though and I'm glad for the people who got in! I accepted CCC a few days ago and I'm glad to have found my spot! Hope to see you there, ajw414!
  12. I'm getting ready to decline OHSU and send in my letter of intent for CCC. What a happy surprise their email was! Congratulations to those of you already accepted. I'm crossing my fingers for everyone on the waitlist! I'm excited to meet you all at orientation!
  13. I kind of liked the CCC essay! It wasn't what I was expecting, but maybe that's what I liked about it? I'd feel a lot more comfortable with how my interview went if they were accepting more applicants than they are. It's funny how different all the formats were! I liked the people at MHCC a lot and I feel really informed about their program now. Unfortunately they were my final interview, and while I feel like theirs was much easier than the others, I had the hardest time with it. Of course I loved just writing an essay for PCC :) I got accepted to OHSU last week but I am sort of holding out for community college for financial reasons. Does anyone have a top choice? If yes, why is that school your top pick? I'd love to get some info that would separate one of these programs from the pack!
  14. Hi all. I'm nervously preparing to interview at OHSU, PCC, CCC, and MHCC before next Friday. I can't wait for this decision to be out of my hands again! @asatrum, I had 57 points at CCC and I'm so glad that was high enough. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you at interviews and hopefully in class this fall!
