...to prepare for NCLEX? Our school just started this semester with this new program that is designed to be tailored for each individual student. We take a comprehensive test that is set up like NCLEX with the exception that theirs has 5 questions/page (for faster downloading purposes) and then gives us results as to where we need to study to be able to pass NCLEX and get our license. It sounds like a really great program. I was just wondering if anyone else has used this and what were your results??

My school used the ATI program and I found it to be kind of helpful. Some of the stuff in the books though were contraindicated with what was said in my med-surg book. The only test that I didn't pass was the psych one becuase I really don't have a n interest in psych nursing. I would say the NCLEX is a bit different from the ATI tests but they are a good resource anyways to study with.

My school uses the ATI comprehensive as a road block to graduating from semester 7. I passed, but it was one of the most difficult tests I have ever seen. The statistics on first time pass rates for people who score high enough seem pretty reassuring. (I don't know what is and is not proprietary, you can find the stats on their website.) Best of luck.

We use ATI. I personally like, but I can not compare it to NCLEX because I won't be taking that until early next year - Dec 2007 graduate. We are required to take the ATI RN Comprehensive at the end of this semester to help prepare for the boards, but we have used it all along. The one good thing is that if we get a 68% or better on the RN Comprehensive we are allowed to skip our final, woohoo. How doable this is, I'm not sure??? I found ATI tests to be a tad hard (the proctored ones) compared to their practice (unproctored) tests.

It IS a great program! My school used it and I decided to do the Virtual ATI Boards Review course after graduation as opposed to Kaplan, which most of my classmates took. I felt EXTREMELY well prepared for Boards and passed with only 75 questions. My school is now considering ATI to be THE boards review course every graduate will take. Yes, the ATI exams are tough, but believe me, it's worth it. The test results on the ATI predictor exams are very indicative of your NCLEX success. Best wishes!

My current school uses ATI. It's a good program. If you can pass ATI, you should be able to pass the NCLEX. Personally, I think ATI is harder than the NCLEX.

I will also graduate in December '07, and we have used ATI from the start, even our entrance exam was ATI. I find the tests to be very challenging, but so far have scored quite well on the national percentile rankings - which is what my program uses for your score, not the actual percent of questions correct.
The school tells us that the NPR is an accurate predictor of NCLEX, but then they say a lot of things, so it is reassuring to hear that someone other than our administrators are confident in this program.

The ATI is okay but nothing like the nclex. It is great tool because it does force you to study. However the downfall is that my school started using it to determine if you pass the quarter. If you do not pass ati every quarter, you have to retake the entire quarter again.

We use ATI at my school. We took 1 test at the end of each semester, and now that we only have two semesters left we will take three each semester. I must admit the ATI test are kind of hard.

UMASS Amherst School of Nursing uses ATI. This forces us to critically think but the NCLEX prep books focus more on memorized material rather than critically thinking. I don't know how useful the ATI crap is!
