what was your score?

Specializes in Med Surge- Surgery Floor.

In my school they wanted us to score an 850 for the exit HESI. I made 3 attempts 788, 828, and then an 838. Well needless to say after all that stress on that test, I passed my boards with 75 questions in under an hour. I personally have little faith in the HESI as a judge for passing boards.

thanks for your replies, they really helped make me feel better. this test is discouraging for me and the others that haven't passed yet. i will buy the saunders book i didn't have that one. glad to know i am not the only one that found the hesi book to be of little to no help for this test.;)

Hi to all, I got a 1074 on the HESI. (I did absolutely terrible with basic nursing care and psych!)

We were told not to study at all for it, there were no minimum scores that were needed to pass. It was simply used as an exit exam to gauge our readiness for boards. Scores under 800 in any area were considered to be topics for study. On the flip side, if there were areas with high scores, these are things that we already know. No sense in studying what we are proficient in.

We are offered another chance at it as well, for those who want it. Mine said that I would pass with 99% accuracy. Even though I am still studying hard for boards.

Good Luck! ~Ivanna

Does anyone think the hesi hints and cd in the hesi book is effective?

If so, how? If not, why?

I've taken 3 HESI's so far. One for Fundamentals, one for Psych, and one for Pharm. We have to take a Med-Surg HESI at the end of our semester and it counts for 40% of our grade (yep, I said 40). I used the HESI study guide for my Psych and it seemed to help a little (but I also used my Saunders). 3 more HESI's to go after this semester (Peds, OB, Final cumulative) and then I'm done with STUPID HESI's:monkeydance:!!!! Can everyone tell that I hate HESI's:chuckle?

Please I need help with the hesi exit exam. I have only one more chance to pass or I will repeat my last semester. I already did saunders questions, finished the hesi book, did the cd, and nclex 3500 questions. My last score was 868. I need a 900 to pass. Please if you took it recently, can you give me hints, what to focus on or anything that will help me to pass. I'm desperate to pass. 7 months pregnant right now, and I don't need added stress.

Thanks

Your right, you don't need the added stress at this time in your life. I will be cheering you on all the way!

Did you score an 868 before using saunders, hesi book/cd and nclex 3500?

has anyone taken the test this month?

During this semester (I had to take my third semester during the summer) I had three HESIs. One for OB, one for Psych, and the one I just took two days ago for Pedi. My scores were 865, 685 (ouch!) and 907, respectively. So, I did fairly well on my OB and Pedi HESI, but I bombed the psych one.

Hi, I took the HESI and got a 986 and I missed 35 questions. It is not determined by how many you miss but how hard each question is worth. Another student in my class got a 1014 and she missed 37 questions. I think the HESI was much easier than the boards. I am awaiting my results from that and am scared. Good luck to you. I found the Saunder Cards helped me the most. PS Know your MED Surg for HESI. You will do fine:up:

I took the hesi and got a 980 without studying. I found it to be harder than the boards. I passed my boards with 75 questions on July 25th! The hesi had more knowledge based questions. The boards had way more delegation and priority questions, which I feel are easier to figure out. I guess it depends on what kind of test taker you are. Good Luck!
