This situation did not occur to me personally. Although, I am 90% certain that I know you. dansamy is my internet forum userID. My name is Amelia.

My belief is that you and your classmates should file a grievance. I know remediation was required if a student failed the mid-curricular. To not offer remediation post-exit HESI runs counter to what we'd already experienced with the mid-curricular exam.

i took the hesi-rn as an exit exam today. it sucked. we had to pass it to sit for the nclex--our pinning is on the 8th. most of us passed, but it was full of bizarre questions. really, really weird. saunders helped a lot. now, if it IS true that it has some bearing of predicting passing the nclex, i'm good to go.

It was a pain. I think somewhere around the hour mark, I started micro-sleeping. It was sooooo cold in our computer lab. I'm amazed I got a 1057 on it since I was so uncomfortable (read: frigging freezing!!!) during the exam.

The HESI was one of my worst nightmare. My school required that we passed with a score above and 85 or 850. We has three tries. The first time, I missed it by 3 points of 820 (82). the second time, I made 880 (88).

i have to take the hesi on the 16th of this month any suggestions to get through this test!!

Study your saunders nclex rn book NOT THE HESI BOOK! Do as many review questions as possible.

Why not the hesi book? I have to take the Hesi in a month. I have been using the book and cd. I find the practice tests to be really hard. I am soooooo nervous. Any more suggestions would be appreciated!

Hello All,

I actually took the HESII exam today as an entrance exam into an RN program. We were told by the school that we would receive results but not to dwell on them because the school will decide what they consider to be passing based upon the class average. When I reviewed the exam I saw that the class average was an 80. I did extremely bad because I got a 74.46%. I attribute that to working the night shift 11pm-7am and went going to the school for 8:30am only to find out that we had to take 2 more exams before the nursing (HESII). So I did all that on no sleep at all and by the time we took the HESII it was already nearing 2:30pm and I was literally seeing sheep and fences (lol) halfway through the test. Now I'm like I should have never done that because I could have potentially ruined my chances of getting in for this semester.

i have now taken the hesi 4 times and now have one last chance and that is to be decided. i have studied the hesi book and the cd and still no luck, i have gone to a review given at the nursing school that i attend. i know it sounds bad but i am not the only one in our graduated class that still hasn't passed this test. there are about 30 and now we are told that we get one more chance. we have to have an 850 to pass and the last two times i got 824 and 829. does anyone have any suggestions on what to study and how. i know that i am running out of steam and time to take this test and stressing out has not seemed to help. any advise would be helpful.

my advice to you would be to study your saunders rn book. hesi no longer uses the hesi book to make up the hesi exam. if you long on to the hesi web site it tells you that it uses 47 books to make up the test and not one of them is the hesi book. when hesi was purchased by evolve in january of 2006 they no longer used the hesi book. keep your head up girl , think positive and study the hell out of your saunders book and in the mean time i will be praying for you and your class mates.:saint:

I agree with MsCookie I took the Hesi last Thursday and did 100 pts better than my last hesi. I made 823 I also have one more try to make 850 but I feel very confident that I will make it next time.

Also the Kaplan Book Helped me big time...Do alot of questions everyday. Forget the Hesi book...no help to me at all.
