We cannot give medical advice on this website. You might want to go to a website specializing in neuropathy, and ask other people there what they might recommend in the way of practitioners or treatments.

52 years old here, in my last term. Looking at graduation at the end of Sept. Never too old to start anything new!
wtg on your endeavor......not an easy one, as i can attest!! best of luck to you as you approach graduation!!
OMG I'm a dinosaur, LOL. Yep, I will be 42 in February and am going back to school (again). I went to massage school six years ago but with the economy the way it is people can not afford massage (it's either a tank of gas for your car or a massage.....hmmmm). So, I find myself going back to school; this time in a field that I believe will provide solid employment regardless of the economy. I think that is part of the reason a lot of us "older" students go back to school. It may be tough but we can do it; we've dealt with a lot of tough issues on our way to becoming dino's. I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck to you.
a dinosaur? lol...hardly!! I am now 44 (will be 45 in November, and am awaiting my ATT for boards)....you are a yungin(??) (from jersey, so not sure how that nice southern word is spelled......lol......best wishes to you for your upcoming schooling!!

You guys have made me feel much better. I'm 45 and I start my LVN program on August 25th.
Thank you Shalamar, for asking the question.
I'm getting nervous.
Every time I think about it, I get stomach cramps.

Wellllll, I will be 55 in August and just entering the nursing program (pre-reqs done). Decided I hated the big corporation that bought my company where I worked as an embalmer & funeral director for 20 yrs and quit & enrolled in nursing.
So, far it's been o.k. (a lot of studying, although) and the actual nursing program scares me to death! I am just going to consider it as my full time job and not work while I'm going to school. Hope the memory holds out for all the tests that I've been reading about. Seems like I study a lot more that the younger students. Although I've gotten all "A's" so far. A & P was the hardest so far. I just hope & pray it goes fast, 'cause I know it's going to be a tough! My plans are to go on the the RN program---providing I don't get burned out.:redbeathe:eek:
You go girl!
WTG!!!!!!!!!! Best wishes for a bright new future, and gl in school!!

I am 54 years old, and will be 55 when I graduate in Dec. There are several in my class older than me (Thank goodness:confused:). And I still am going to get my R.N. Needless to say I drive 5 days a week 3 hours a day to Susanville, Ca. from Reno to get to school. Not to mention clinicals sometimes in Redding, Ca. It is worth it though. Nevada doesn't really offer the LPN programs, and their RN schools are terrible!!! I will need two more semesters or 7 more classes after I graduate. You are only as old as feel. Good Luck

I'm new here and wanted to say yes to over 40. Started school 1 yr ago and will graduate next year (hopefully) about this time. I'm working as a Medical Assistant and have been for five years.
Oh, I forgot to mention I'm 55.
Good luck to everyone.

I just finished nursing school and will be 55 yo this month. It was a two year p/t program. I was the oldest in the class and I believe older than most, if not all, my instructors. Attitude and a desire is all you need.

Hi All,
Oh yea, I am definately over 40 and "terrified" is the phrase I will use. I am in orientation right now and will start regular classes toward the end of Sept. They have let us know that school will rule our lives for the next year and make plans now, get your life in order. They also told us we will need to bring a suitcase to carry our books home in. Its been a very stressful month with all the shots, getting certified for cpr and first aid, and getting my STNA, and to top it off I haven't seen the financial advisor yet. But I have to say that the excitement and anticipation is wonderful. Can't wait to dig in! Hope all goes well for all the more aged NS (like me) starting their LPN this year.:wink2:
