Anyone could help me wid nursing schools?

Published

I'm almost done wid mah pre reqz. And wuteva school i try in Michigan, almost every school has a waitin list for an year or more. Anybody could suggest a college out of state dat don't have a waiting list or any other optionz?

Brutal, but isn't it better to know that kind of writing is not the norm and is unacceptable. At the very least - it gives an impression that a person is not educated. Maybe the OP will change her writing style, and will have an easier time getting accepted into a program.

I don't think that this was a serious post, you find the most bizarre people around the holidays surifng the net, driving around town. and even showing up at the gym ;)... makes you scratch your head where they suddenly come from.

Wow, you guys are brutal. You probably scared her off. :nono:

No one said anything bad about the OP. He/she needs to know that the form of the post overshadowed the content. I hope the OP will try again.

Good luck. No need to write like a text message. We don't charge by the letter. Please spell them out fully.

I think the OP is just doing what the people in that generation do, write how they send text messages. If they stay in school a little longer and get reminded that they can not write formal papers like that, they will stop. Again, it may not mean that they are uneducated but it is just how they talk when they are with friends.I hope they did not run off, this site could really be helpful and useful.

I don't know anyone of a younger generation who would write like that and be serious about wanting to accomplish a goal like this. If a person can't realize that typing in such slang isn't going to get them a respectable answer, how can they possibly expect to be respected by professors and such?

Most people realize there is a time and place for everything, and asking for help in a professional career is not the time to talk in such deep slang!

I agree 100% goldenscroll

I personally don't think it's too much to ask someone to at least attempt to be professional on these boards. First of all, I agree that it's difficult to read a post like that; second, it's hard to take it seriously.

I am not in high school and haven't been for many years. I also don't IM, text all day long, or whatever else the "kids" are doing these days and find posts like this somewhat insulting to my intelligence. I wouldn't have taken the time to even respond to this post since the last time I suggested someone take the time to post in some semblance of proper English she went off and we both ended up edited by Siri!! But in support of others who find this offensive, here I am again! :uhoh3:

HAHAHAHAHHA, thats all i can do.... i actually laughed out loud!!

I'm leaving allnurses because of EXACTLY the same problem. Can you believe they put an "infraction" under my profile because I "publicly argued with a moderator"...I now have a "criminal record" here on allnurses and anybody who reads my profile can see it ?!?! Isn't that silly and just plain stupid?

point of clarification: :)

we tend to give new posters some slack, especially those who are into text messaging on cell phones where amount of characters send cost $$. a simple use of red triangle in top right corner of thread will alert the mod team to post concern. we'll contact member re texting not desired here and send link to our tos, an easy way to get issue resolved....might take 1-2 days get corrected as not everyone online here daily. quicker you contact our volunteer mod team, we just might catch the person online and can resolve issue immediately.

it's clearly stated at sign up that we are a moderated board. moderation of members is done privately: no one sees contacts made with members or points assigned ...only see your own account. no one knows actions we've taken unless publicly discussed on the board.

we probably make about 10-15 contacts to members regarding posting concerns in relation to assigning points for blatant terms of service violations--- most often spamming or personal attacks.

friendly debate using pg 13 language ---won't here from us.

back to your question....

discover nursing: nursing programs without waiting lists

a school with no wait list-have you heard of it?

schools with openings????????

Brutal but truthful, if any of my instructors read or heard us talking like that they would have a coronary on the spot! there is a time place for slang like that, and this is not one of them when you are asking a serious question and wanting a true answer, my first thought when reading posts like that is that they either have difficulties with enligh in general or they typed something like that on purpose just to get a response

I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't necessary. In my/our case, it probably was. I let myself get way too involved in someone else's issues and should have just backed off of the subject at hand in that case. Instead, I kept replying to someone's increasingly angry replies and got out of hand myself.

I am sorry that you've chosen to leave allnurses. Your posts have always been insightful and interesting.

Best wishes as you continue on with your schooling!
