I'm just curious! I'm just starting (at the ripe 'ol age of 35, LOL!) looking into a career in nursing. I've worked in hospitals and clinics doing medical transcription for years and years, and way back when used to be a pre-physical therapy major (I've taken chemistry, anatomy, biology...don't know if they would count, as it's been several years). I would be attending MJC for pre-reqs and (fiingers crossed) the nursing program eventually and I would really love to have a student's view, how difficult it is to get into the program, any general advice, etc.
I applied for the lvn-RN upgrade at mjc. It seems like it is taking forever for the 23rd to get here!!!!! Has anyone heard if anyone dropped or failed last semester so there will be room for LVN upgrades? I had applied for the RN program 4 times and couldnt get in. SO i decised to apply for the LVN program at Delta and got in furst try. Now I just want to finish my RN asap cause LVN positions do not pay half as well . Hope you all get in soon. I know how frustrating it is to apply over and over again.
Thanks!! I have my fingers crossed for the both of us too:) I did see the website and I also spoke to someone at allied health and she said they are trying really hard to make the 23rd deadline. I guess with 719 apps, it can take a while. She said that number is up 200 from last app period:cool:
Had to jump in on the post, I too am one of the many applicants with my life on hold waiting to find out about the MJC program... I am so anxious about finding out and now it is pushed back to the 28th!!! The wait is tormenting me! Lol. I know they have a lot to do but I dot understand, if they know that 715 are qualified isn't it just a cp that does the lottery selection? Sounds like there is more to it than that... oh well... I already enrolled in a full time schedule since my registration date was in JUNE... I know my chances are low on getting in but there is always hope... good luck to everybody... also... does anyone know anyone who has made it into MJC within the first two times applying?

I know, I thought so too!! But some of those people may have already gotten accepted to other schools and will give up their spot if they are picked.
