Anyone else want to burn their statistics book?

Published

Just finished 12 weeks of statistics, final exam was tonight, and I am really REALLY hoping I passed!

Anyone else hate this class as much as I did??

The only thing my statistics class taught me was a healthy skepticism of most studies. You can manipulate numbers to prove just about any hypothesis.

Lol just thinking about it after almost 40 years still makes me hyperventilate. 😱

Dreaded taking it for a long time (it was actually what was holding me back from going back for my BSN right away)...dreaded when I actually registered for it. Hated ever second of it. Thankfully it was online and I was able to go at my own pace to figure things out.

Still have the book..its a nice paper weight LOL.

Now between stats and chemistry..I'd take stats again..any day...any time!

Hahaha, yep. My sentiments EXACTLY! Except... I just threw mine away... but burning is a WAY better idea!

Noooooo:) I love Stats. Of course being a former Engineer and having done Stats at Graduate level I do not find it difficult. Well at least it is over now right?

I loved statistics, too. I was lucky enough to have a young, enthusiastic instructor....he loved statistics so much, he wanted everyone else to love it as well. Made all the difference in the world, in my humble opinion. :D

I took statistics many moons ago but gonna retake it this fall for a better grade. Really dreading it.

Hate it or love it does not matter. All that matters is that you earn the grade. It is required to earn a BSN. So if you want to be a nurse then feelings do not matter. It is simply a task. Do or do not.

I have taken too many stats classes (4 all together, plus 2 program specific courses - undergrad and for masters). It sucks! The sources that pulled me through were the Stanford website and statistics for dummies - no lie!

I thought I hated statistics at first. I spent so much time on it really trying to understand every little detail. I became somewhat obsessed and feeling similar to Jack in The Shining 😋 In all seriousness, I spent a lot of time with it because I really wanted to understand it. I got my "A" and now It's been like 6 months since taking it and I don't know if I could compute anything but the mean median and mode hahaha

Same boat. I had to take it twice, so I went through Hades two times :scrying:

this is how stats was for me. Beginning - most people doing A's, some really struggled. Midway, Z-scores and probability - a few people hanging on to that A. Most are B's, people are sliding into C's and the people who struggled are basically failing at this point. Final home stretch and you get that bell curve.

You need a doctor there HAS to be something wrong with you! :wideyed:

I was SUPER HAPPY to learn yesterday that I passed my final and finished the class with a 96! TWO more classes... :sneaky:

You want to buy my book before I burn it? 30.00 and it's yours! :whistling:
