Just finished 12 weeks of statistics, final exam was tonight, and I am really REALLY hoping I passed!
Anyone else hate this class as much as I did??

I was fortunate enough to have stumbled upon a self-paced introductory statistics course that didn't require much number-crunching, calculations, or real math. It mostly entailed definitions, concepts, and vocabulary.
It was an introductory course to prepare students to critically analyze research articles, conduct research, and understand EBP.

My statistics class is a behavioral statistics class. Not only is it math but it's psychology. I have 1 1/2 weeks left. I have one more test that opens tomorrow then I have to write a 6-8 page APA formatted literary review about a medical study, break down the stats of it, determine if it can be repeated, determine if the findings are significant... Lots of fun this class. But no, I'm not burning my book. I'm selling it back to make some money for the next semester.

I sooooo feel you on this. I normally LOVE math but I HATED stats! I have never hated anything like I hated this class. I threw everything away (except the book of course) the moment the grades were posted to my transcripts.

I thought about burning my med-surg book today but I decided it's best if I wait until after my final on Saturday.
I didn't buy a book for stats but if I had, it would probably be at the bottom of a trash pile right now.
Congrats on finishing stats!

Wow, you win as far as level of s**k!! I guess I should appreciate that we didn't have to write a paper!!! I am having nightmares about ANOVA and Chi-square though!
I have two classes left for my BSN ,one is research in nursing, after that this book is going to the gun range as target practice with my AK-47! I am blowing it to bits and peaces, but only after I am totally done using it!

I just finished my 5 week stat course too, but I loved it. But things like that kind of appeal to me. You're through though you made it and that much closer!
What I hate is literature! I am dreading to take the class. I love reading on my own but I hate writing papers and needing to conform or adopt my opinions to the teacher's about lit.
Too bad we can't just all take the prereqs and gen eds we like right haha!

not many people like statistics that's for sure...I've taken many statistic courses at the undergrad and grad level and I found this book to be very helpful:
"Statistics for people who (think they) hate statistics"....very easy to read and understand

I hated it until my brothers roommate wrote a very handy script for his senior thesis. Worked magically.

Can't say that I do. Given that I was hired on as a statistics tutor. I will say this though I put more effort into statistics than any other class, and still received my lowest grade the semester I took it. Its tough, and frustrating and really almost got my confidence level low.
