Do you know anyone who had 85 questions on the NCLEX_PN test and didnt pass?

The rule, I think, would be if it cut off that soon, you did an excellent job. Or, it could be that you knew so little and got so few corect that it was not possible to get enough correct to pass. 85 is like 1/2 the possible questions, right? (They didn't do it that way when I took boards way back when.)

My reaction is that cutting off at 85 was darn good. But, I've been wrong before. Hope not!

dear graduatenurse, i just took my PN boards on monday the 16th in Boise. my test stopped at 86 questions and i just about freaked out. I found out my results a couple of days later by checking the state board of nursing web site (passed).

to any one who hasnt taken their boards yet, i think the best way to study is to get the NCLEX study guide and just use the CD, at least that way you get used to the type of questions that will be on the exam

I don't know of anyone that had 85 questions that didn't pass. I know the literature states that you CAN fail at the minimum number of questions, but not likely would be my guess.

Hello Every body...I am telling you about my experience...I think there is no magical numbers that you passed/Failed at 75/265 or any number in between

My 1st attempt ---- I failed at 265

My 2nd attempt ---I failed at 75 ( everybody was saying ..don't worry..you passed)

My 3rd attempt on Aug 10th --- I passed at 145

So I conclude that there are no magical numbers to beleive..Just belive in yourself and give your best....

Good luck...

I know at least two people who had 85 questions and did not pass. I was told by them that the reason they did not pass was because they did not study and wasn't ready for it. I took the nclex-pn aug 25, 2004 and i had 85 questions. I won't know the results till next two weeks. I study really hard for this nclex-pn and I'm really having doubt about all my answers. I really dont have a feel if I pass or not. All i can remember is that all the wrong answers that i put. Does anyone know how much percentages you can miss on the nclex-pn?

Hi everyone,

I am new here to this site. I just took my NCLEX-PN and I haven't found out the results yet. I have no clue as to how many questions I had on my test since I did not see a counting number.

I can say it was the hardest test I have taken yet. I graduated nursing school with a 92 average, and when I got done testing, it left me feeling so dumb.

I don't know how I did. The questions it was throwing at me seems to be nothing that I learned in school. Before my exam started, it had said something about you had to pass with 95% accuracy.

When you all went in to take your test, did you leave feeling like you failed or passed? Just curious..

I am so nervous right now, hopefully I'll get my results back soon.

Shellee075,

I took my test on July 27, got results on July 29 - passed. I answered 85 questions and the test stopped. I too felt that I did horrible on the test. Are you able to remember any of the questions on the test. Do you feel the ones you remember were correct?

Best of luck

Hi PeruvianNurse.. Thank you for replying back. I don't know how many questions I had. I never did see a counter to tell me which question number I was on. At the end of the test, it did not display the number of questions either. The test did pound me with alot of mental health questions, which is one of my weaker subjects.

My director of nursing at the school, told me that the nclex was mostly about saftey for the patient, but there was not one question regarding saftey for the patient in any form of way. It asked me questions that I did not know, and when I got home, I looked it up in the NCLEX book, and it did not mention anything about the questions it had asked me. It also asked about Nutrition.

All I know is I hope I passed.. I fear taking this test again.
