Any hospital hiring new grads? anywhere in the country?

Published

Does anyone know of any hospital that are currently hiring new grads without any experience? I graduated May '09, and it's so hard finding a job without experience. Thanks.

where is the tri-state area? i used to live in eastern washington state and they call oregon, idaho and washington the tri-state area sometimes, is this where u are referring to?

Is there any hope in Ohio or KY for a job? I have applied to every hospital and clinic around here. I am getting frustrated every day. I have received no call backs and no interviews. I have began calling the places I have applied to only to leave a daily message for the nurse recruiters and get no answer back. My husband is just as frustrated. Did I mention that we are living with my father and have for the last 2 yrs since I began nursing school. I have and ADN and am a "New Grad". I have 4 yrs experience as a Registered Medical Asst. and 1 yr experience as a Cert. Pharm Tech. It kills me that I have that experience and can't get a job, but fellow students with no experience, get hired. I am sincerely happy for them but, what am I doing wrong? We are willing to relocate. I have a temp lic in NV and TX. I have applied to both and heard nothing back.

Specializes in ortho rehab, med surg, renal transplant.

I graduated w/ RN in 12/2009, unable to find a hospital RN position after graduating b/c of hiring freezes & etc. Took a position in 3/2010 in a LTC type facility in the rehab unit. Started off on days w/15pts day & after 3 mo of unbelievable STRESS switched to nights w/ 18-19 pts. Nights suited me so much better mostly b/c less "busy" b/c pt family, PT/OT, etc. There has been a lot of changeover w/ nursing staff since I've been here. A couple of the newer nurses that I feel closer to & have typically similar situation that I had to just hang out for 6 mos to a yr & then to move on to hospital.

i know they are hiring american nurses in saudi arabia and in dubai:idea:

Just got a mailer yesterday that Lexington, KY just opened a new facility. They are hiring. The mailer said new grads on it too. I don't need a job at the moment. Thought I pass on the info though.

University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH is currently hiring some new grads. They are just finishing up hiring a bunch of new nurses into pediatrics and postpartum positions, so those are no longer available. However there is one new grad posting in labor and delivery that just came up today, so apply if you're interested because we all know that new grad positions fill up quickly!

RNSue2010,

I live in South Florida (Miami), and it is really hard to get a job. I haven't been able to find any internship program and every hospital I have applied, they have rejected my application because I am a new grad.

If someone knows about anything, please let me know.

Thanks

I'm from SW FL , Naples, to be exact. I was turned down by Naples Community, Lee Memorial, Sarasota Memorial, etc because I had no experience and because I was a new grad. I know Lee Memorial post new grads positions on there site for the 1st six days of every month but then takes it down. Thats such an inconvenience & it's nit guarantee that you will even get a call back. They called me for an interview in January but I was already employed. I currently work for Shands on an IMC/ICU floor. I recommend GNs from FL apply. The nurse recruiters go over and beyond to place new GNs in the hospital & you can get a 3k relocation bonus for just agreeing to wrk at the institution for a year which flies by I've been on my unit going on 6 months & my nurse manager already is considering me for charge nurse duties after I hit the year mark.

for those who are still seeking employment try this: http://www.nahcr.com/Members%5CDirectory%5CDirectory.pdf

I found this awhile back and it's actually how I obtained my job. It list nursing recruiters in all 50 states if you want them by geographical location, state by state, that starts on page 101. I hope this helps !
