Any hospital hiring new grads? anywhere in the country?

Published

Does anyone know of any hospital that are currently hiring new grads without any experience? I graduated May '09, and it's so hard finding a job without experience. Thanks.

Forsyth Medical in Winston Salem, NC is hiring! Gotta move quick, they're setting up interviews now!

The job fair for these positions was weeks ago, they have pretty much already called everyone they wanted to interview and set that up. All offers will be given by Dec. 1st. for new grads. They have dates and deadlines they hire for new grads twice a year. It's highly competitive. The last job fair had around 300 people for about 15 jobs. NC is saturated with new graduate nurses.

Geisinger hospital in danville, PA is hiring and they accept new grads. Apply online.

Any hospitals in California for a New Grad with no experience? I went to school in the Philippines and just passed my nclex Dec. 3, 2010.

where in the phillipines? i was thinking of going to school there as i presume it to be cost effective, just not sure if i can get a job when i get out?

Congrats! Try county websites such as LA County. Most county RN I positions don't require experience. In LA County there is currently a hiring freeze. According to a nursing recruiter, LA County DHS was hiring about 40-50 nurses a month, mostly new grads to specialty areas like ICU and ER prior to the freeze.

I heard LA was dead to new grads, and they are still pumping out hundreds and hundreds upon hundreds of new nurses from the RN programs twice a year. The county south of that is considered dead to new grads as well, the entire state of California is considered dead to new grads. Hospitals are not recruiting, and have hundreds of applications per new grad opening. MOST hospitals will not even consider new grads, and take a token 1-2 per year. People who graduated 2 semesters in front of me have no jobs. RN's are taking jobs in sales and working as CNA's just to make ends meet. Seriously.. something needs to change, the hospitals NEED to start taking new grads again. I know of only 3 people in the graduating class of December 2010 to be working as RNs, and that's out of a class of 60. So go figure.

I feel very fortunate to live where I do every time I log in to this thread - everyone I graduated with has a job as a nurse. Come on down to the sticks, y'all.

lol - um, no - I live in north central Texas

What's the climate like in North central Texas? I am pretty sick of winter! LOL And I am learning Spanish, I might add.

The Tri-State area seems devoid of job opportunities.
