Anxiously waiting for the acceptance bus

Published

Hello everyone!

I have been haunting these discussion boards since I decided i wanted to become a nurse. I started my pre-nursing pathway a couple years ago and am so excited to say that I was finally able to apply to the nursing school of my dreams! The deadline for fall '17 semester was the 1st of February. I was told by the nursing director that she would have the 30 candidates selected a week after the deadline.

Since I became eligible to apply I had been over the moon extatic! But now that I'm having to wait for selections I find my self far more anxious and bothered by things that never bug me. I'm usually as chill as a cucumber.

Have others felt the same way or am I overthinking the outcomes? Anyways please chime in.

i've been following this thread for a while. i aplied at stcc in ma and the application deadline was feb 1st. i've been so nervous but yesterday when i checked my webadvisor under active programs it said nursing! i'm still waiting for a letter in the mail but i think i'm in!

Congrats mliglesias

That's how I found out too! Changed major in system. I wasn't able to access my student email at first but I resolved that. It's worth it to be one of the chosen.

When do you begin?

avareemama, the program starts end of august/september. theres an orientation in may and then a 3 day nursing class in june

That's great! I have meeting on March 9th. We just got are uniform order codes, immunizations paper, etc.

We start in August. Not far now, the most important school shopping of my life

I find out early April, usually chill as well. ughhh is the wait painful. But think positive, good luck!!!

I though I was supposed to find out my desicion by the end of February, but apparently the program I applied to doesn't start making desicions until February 28th.... I've never been so stressed before.

Just talked to a good 80% of the kids in my Microbio class who are all going into nursing, and most are staying at the school for that nursing program. The majority took their TEAS this past week and scored 80's or below so that made me feel better for my chances.

Well I didn't make it into my first choice. That one was a long shot anyways but it's still a little disappointing. Should hear from my second choice within 12 days. This one has requirements more geared towards my strengths, so I feel a bit more confident, and honestly it is a better choice for my family but rejection always hurts. Especially since I no longer have a backup plan.

Kepps I'm so sorry to hear that but it seems like the other program might be a great fit, good luck!

Thank goodness you applied more than one place

I'm sure second will be the right program for your family

Thanks for the support everyone. It took a day of being a bit sad but I'm ready to get back out there. Nursing is my dream and one rejection doesn't mean it won't happen. Less than 11 days now until I find out about my other application and yes, it will be better for my family. This program has a nights/weekends option which would allow me to keep my job, do school functions with my kindergartener, and minimize daycare for my littlest guy. I'm still very hopeful. And if not, well then I will be back on the application bus immediately as a few schools here have May application deadlines. I hope those of you still waiting aren't stressing too much!
