Thank you!, yes I have most of the pre reqs done and some are higher levels than required because I transferred. I will be taking sociology and pysch of life span this spring and then retaking A&P 1 over the summer , then plan on taking A&P 2 in fall which will make me eligible to apply. What nursing GPA did you have to get into the program and teas score (congrats by the way!!) Also do you like the school so far and is there anything I should look out for. I kind of nervous about transferring just want to make sure I do it right

Hi Op I'm an undergraduate pre-nursing major as well and I completely understand what you are going through. But you have done so much work thus far so don't give up if this is something you are passionate about. My twin is in the same program as me and has a 4.0 whereas i have a 2.8. It is discouraging when you feel like you cannot succeed but I think you should keep in mind that these college years are a very short period of time versus the lifetime of happiness you'll enjoy as a nurse. You need to find ways to study that work for you. I will be finishing anatomy I with a C+ so I plan on retaking over the summer because although it is frustrating I know I need an A and if you think about it as a future nurse you want to be proficient in anatomy GPA aside. I found for me taking less classes and transferring to a community college has really been beneficial because I have more flexibility with a lower tuition. You have not failed at accomplishing your dreams because you can fix this. Retake any classes under a C+ and study hard for those TEAS I find it helpful to not only read the texts but to also talk about it with peers and do any practics questions in the book becasue its actually much faster than just taking notes. Also watch videos and tutorials on youtube about the subject matter it is so helpful if you're a visual learner or struggle to read. I highly recommend Crash course on youtube. Sorry this is a long response its just I feel what you are going through and know you can do it if you make a positive mind about finishing.

Hi, I am transferring to Gateway Community college from SCSU I am a sophomore. Has any one gone through the program at Gateway or are there now. I am looking for any tips from people that went to Gateway on how to succeed or any information I may need to do well. I really appreciate any input. Thank you.

I think Elizabeths post is incredibly informative and so accurate, I am at scsu now and wish I had known this info going in. The four year pre nursing schools like mine are very difficult because of the many variables such as registration, high gpa, and for me the 8 pre reqs out if 11 I need just to apply. For a select few these programs are four years. But for many of my friends and I its 5 to six even when taking two sciences a semester. If you know you are a 4.0 student go for the pre-nursing option but if not which is not a bad thing go to community college first or gey directly admitted to a nursing program

Hey everyone I have been looking at this website for a while and love it! I need some advice, I am a sophomore at scsu in CT I will not be applying in February as originally planned bc I don't have enough pre reqs done. So I will be applying the following February 2017, I currently have a 2.9 gpa and need a 3.0 minimum to apply. They're only accepting 80 applicants so I feel kind of stuck, do I continue here or should I look else where, I just feel like a spent a lot already to leave but don't want to risk not getting in and can't think of a less expensive way to get bachelors. Please any suggestions
