I study hard and feel confident, this last time it was so intense I actually ran out of time at 221 and failed. I have trouble with prioritizing, they sometimes look unstable. Any help, I am really down on the whole thing:o

No your not a dummy! You passed nursing school...you are just have a temp. set back! Why don't you email Suzanne4 & follow her study plan??? It has worked for so many. I am currently doing it & I think it is great! It does however take 6wks to complete & you need to follow it exactly as she has it planned.

I also recommend Suzanne4's plan, I have seen many success stories here from people who have failed their first tries and then pass following her system!

No one is damm with NCLEX. May be the only thing you need is learning how to work with those questions, understanding what the question is asking e.g(is it an assessment with prioritizing , intervention with safety)? Then eliminate answers using nursing process, ABCs, Maslow, etc. Take each question and play games with it such as am I looking for what is wrong (left hand) or am I looking for what is right (right hand) or is it neither of them (neutral) then go back and understand the question again? Then ask yourself What direction does this question what me to go. If you get what the question is asking, then move to the elimination game by playing the in and out game, keeping answers that have something close to do with what the Q is asking (be careful not eliminate right ones). If possible read through each answer the first time, then eliminate two of them the second time, then keep the best one the third time (remember airway and safety are always the best answers). Try using this on 100 question the first time especially priority Qs and see how it works. Check how many question you missed. If you missed a lot, slow down and try 100 different questions. If there is an improvement, keep working with that time duration on each question till you get better with your scores. You can do this loud the first few times because it helps sometimes. Hope this helps.

welcome to my world! i found out today that i have failed the nclex for the 3rd time. to be honest "it sucks!" however, suzanne4's program seems to be highly recomended so i have emailed her to do this. something has to give because i know that we know what we are doing or else we would of never made it to this place. we survived nursing school and we will conquer this also.
today has been a very stressfull day. i feel the best support that i am getting is from this site and my children.
hang in there and keep me posted on how it is going.

I am so sorry you didn't pass this time, but don't give up! I would REALLY REALLY recommend the Kaplan NCLEX study guide, they teach you strategies to help identify the correct answer and dismiss the distractors. After reading this book, it was alot easier for me to prioritize patients. Good luck in the future!!!

Your definetly not a dummy! You couldnt have gotten through nursing school if you were. I was stressing big time between my 2 & 3rd semesters. Blowing tests-all from being completely stressed out. I went and saw a very reputable hypnotherapist. 2 maybe 3 sessions with her helped with my stress level. I had a tape i listened to 1-2 times a day, specifically gearing for nursing tests. This made such a difference. My insurance covered it. I took my RN HESI on monday (passed), took my boards on Tuesday - found out today I passed. I used Suzannes recommendation for preperation and that was it. May be a combination of not having the right study materials and psyching yourself out. I know I was earlier on.
Good luck, and hang in there

You are NOT a dummy. Quit kicking yourself!! Have seen many posts on here from people that used Suzanne's study guide...and all have passed. If you were using Kaplan, Saunders or other study guides before...they were obviously not working for you.
Good luck...and don't give up.

Question: How did you do on your tests for nursing school? Did they test like the NCLEX? What I am saying is that, you got through nursing school which is one of the hardest things that you may ever come across.
Is there a nursing instructor that you were on good terms with....maybe they can give you some pointers. It is also in the best interest of the nursing school to have their students pass the NCLEX...
