  1. savgirl1211 please contact me at bw358 re: Virginia BON ASAP. Thanks
  2. My school in Virginia required 100%, two retakes. I just graduated with my RN in December. YEAH! I am so glad that is behind me. I am from Colorado also, but I do miss the snow.
  3. Wow, I cant tell you what a relief it is to see this thread. I was diagnosed about a month ago and am on propanol. I am seeing a mild improvement. The PCP I intially saw said I should reconsider being a nurse, which was so distressing since I just graduated with my LPN in May and am in the RN program now. The neurologist said I would probably be disabled within 10-20 years. But I figure I could be disabled tomorrow from a car accident so I'm not going to focus on that. Thanks for all the encouraging words.
  4. Your definetly not a dummy! You couldnt have gotten through nursing school if you were. I was stressing big time between my 2 & 3rd semesters. Blowing tests-all from being completely stressed out. I went and saw a very reputable hypnotherapist. 2 maybe 3 sessions with her helped with my stress level. I had a tape i listened to 1-2 times a day, specifically gearing for nursing tests. This made such a difference. My insurance covered it. I took my RN HESI on monday (passed), took my boards on Tuesday - found out today I passed. I used Suzannes recommendation for preperation and that was it. May be a combination of not having the right study materials and psyching yourself out. I know I was earlier on. Good luck, and hang in there Barbara
  5. I took the NLCEX-PN yesterday. Found out today I passed with 85 questions. I had taken the RN entrance exam HESI the day before passed that as well. So much thanks to Suzanne and her recommendations and Saunders Review Book! I felt great about both tests going into them, and felt okay after as well. :balloons: Thanks again. I am in the LPN-RN transition program and start the RN program August 21st. Barbara Whalen LPN (RN - May 2007)
  6. I am using Jenny Renee's questions from another thread and adding my own. I am in a similar situation as Jenny Renee. 1. What is the criteria for admission 2. When can you start the program ***I have read that you have to take I think it was 7 classes and take the exam for each of those... 3. But how are clinicals done and where do you do your clinicals 4. I also read a post about a CPNE (sorry if thats not right) but what exactly is this...and where do you take this 5. If I live in the state of Texas can I take boards here 6. Typically how long does the program take 7. Are there any negative aspects at all that anyone has heard of.... 8. What are their NCLEX pass rates? 9. Do employers generally pay tuition reimbursment for Excelsior? 10. Can you get financial aid (the same as at other colleges)? 11. What is the approximate cost? Thanks for any help you can offer.
  7. I just want them back in their home again!
  8. I am in the LPN program. It is 3 semesters. Program starts in the summer, then you have fall semester and graduate at the end of spring semester. I am going into the 3rd semester. You can then immediately go into their LPN-RN transition program in the summer and start the RN program in the fall. That is 2 semesters long. I know both programs are tough, but I have heard that the LPN Program is tougher because you have to learn so much in 12 months. Good luck
