I am on top of the world today. Back in January I was accepted to Portland Community College's and I found allnurses.com. There is no greater feeling I can have for the GREATEST FAMILY of allnurses.com, who have brought me the greatest and realest positive energy as a CNA. I have succeeded thanks to ALL OF YOU for providing care and knowledge i frankly couldn't get anywhere else.
I brought you ALL with me into the auditorium today, as i got my advisor and was assigned a group, etc. Allnurses.com has made me a diamond amongst other students who don't know about our place and are not CNA's. My thoughts are now that I have to guard what I have learned from you. The confidence you ALL have given me can be interpreted as cockyness to the general nursing student class/group. At work, i am still humble around the nurses, but having worked all ready for 5 months on the floor and floated and allnurses.com is some great reality to realize. You all touch lives - you touch mine - and I want to thank you/can't thank you enough.
I don't know how I feel being the only working floor CNA atending nursing school. I wish there were more people who became CNA's while in nursing school and have a name on allnurses.com. I feel lonely, in a way, where I am.

Hi, Mario. I'm fairly new to allnurses, but wanted to congratulate you on starting nursing school. You definitely have a good head start with your work experience and the community here. You'll be very busy, and probably pretty stressed at times, but it'll be well worth the effort! Good for you!!!
Plus (gulp) there is, like, 4-5 guys in the whole class of 80. I applaude all my fellow students who are busting a move and going through nursing school and being a mom too. Time was spent listening to students say how they will be stressed with raising little ones and marriage. Some mom's said they woke up at 3am to hit the books. thats hard core. My brain is definately in the sleep mode then, lol.

MEMO To: Portland Community College(Oregan) Nursing Instructors
FROM: Allnurses.com RN's
Please be advised that one of our best CNA posters, Mario, has chosen to attend YOUR COLLEGE. In preparation for his arrival, we respectfully request that all class room instructors brush up their lectures as to be stimulating. Please require all staff to drink a power beverage before his class times; he has an inquisitive mind and you will need to be well prepared to answer his lengthy and probing questions. Bucket and mop are not needed as he soaks up information like a sponge.
Clinical field instrutors should be prepared to wear rollar skates to keep up with this athletic student who bike rides to work/clinical sites DAILY for fun!
We hold YOU reponsible for the best education possible as this articulate young man is expected to join our ranks in two years. We suspect that he will become a shining star and return as an instructor someday leading others forward in our profession.
Sincerely,
Karen O'Hara RN, BSN
