Accepted!! Goodbye cubicle, HELLO clinicals!

Published

Hello out there! I am thrilled to announce I can finally stop stalking the "Pre-Nursing Student" threads and begin the "Nursing Student" thread-stalking. I got my acceptance letter for the Spring 2014 start in a BSN program! I was curious to see if anyone else is currently starting or already started their nursing program after quitting a full time-comfy-living-weekends-and-holidays-off desk job?? I am terrified to leave this cubicle prison that has grown to consume my Monday-Friday life for the past three years, but so incredibly anxious and excited for the day I never have to sit in this chair again. This past year of taking night and online prereqs while day dreaming of becoming a kick-butt-super-nurse has finally paid off. Now I just need to sit quietly at my desk and pretend my life is as ordinary as ever until I can give my notice!

In the spirit of Jerry Maguire, "Who's coming with me?"...and what are all your stories? Please share! :)

Specializes in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

I still find it weird to post in the student thread, and I'm in my second semester. I'm an starting to relate less and less with the pre-nursing threads though. Maybe it was because we only did health assessments the first semester.

Good luck with school!

mee tooo!! I have a strangely very similar situation here. I have worked at my Monday through Friday holidays and weekends off desk job for 3 years and just found out I was accepted to the TWU BSN program nursing school yesterday!! Now of course I have a million things running through my mind like loans, background checks, orientation, drug screening, immunizations, insurance, physical, and loans loans loans. blahh! lol still super happy though. congratulations to us!

Specializes in Emergency Room.

Congratulations ladies! I'm still stuck in cubicle purgatory for another 10 months :bluecry1:

Specializes in Psychiatry, Oncology.

I have been in the cubicle/office "prizon" for 20 years now and can't wait to start a program. Unfortunately, I only got on a waitlist for Spring, so likely another 7 months for me to start in summer.

Congrats! Have fun!

I've been in cubicle prison for 5 years. I'm officially half way through my first semester and I only see my cube a few days a week for some form of income. Congrats!!

Specializes in None.

It does feel good to no longer stalk the pre nursing student threads. I got my acceptance letter last week for my ADN program that starts January 13th. I can't say how thrilled and excited I am. :-) Good luck to you!

I've been in cubicle prison WHILE in nursing school and have 60 days left til graduation, YAY!!

I feel your excitement, I'm ready for a career change!

lol, that's exactly how I feel, but in a different situation.

I was in the cubicle, got accepted, saw the cublicle less and enjoyed Nursing school. Nursing school is over and am full time at the cubicle again. Ahhh.. waiting to get some calls for an interview, just started applying yesterday. I look forward to the day I can turn in my two weeks notice as soon as a place hires me :nailbiting:
