Awesome, I'm glad I'm not the only one!!

Dumb question but in regards to essays, did you guys use APA format, encluding indentation etc.? I just used the 11/12 font and double like spaced without indentations? Wondering if I need to go back and change this?

I didn’t use APA format and I didn’t double space it. I used 11 point font and I did indent all of my paragraphs. I don’t think they really look at the format.

anyone know the acceptance rate for this program? I am applying for the fall

How are all of you liking the program so far? I was accepted for Fall 2020, so I'm curious!

I’m having a great time. I’m happy with my decision. School keeps me busy but I don’t find more difficult than I expected.

I also think it is important to consider loan forgiveness options. Nursing is considered to be a public service career so a lot of hospital systems and states offer loan forgiveness. I know when I attended Duke Days it was mentioned that’s Duke Hospital will offer loan repayment up to $25k for a 2-3 year commitment. I’ve done some research on the the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program and the NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program. The National Health Service Corps program awards up to $50,000 in loan repayment assistance if you’re working full time. The NURSE Corps program doesn’t place a dollar limit on the award, which can be for up to 60 percent of your outstanding balance if you work full time for two years. You may qualify for assistance with an additional 25 percent of your original loan balance with a third-year commitment. Yes, you have to work for two years at a facility that has a critical shortage of nurses but this may be a great option for those who are worried about the over all amount of loans. Hope this helps!

@Kamieol Sorry for responding to an old post, but in regards to Duke offering loan repayment up to $25k for a 2-3 year commitment, do you know if that is all inpatient nursing positions, or is it only for select nursing positions?

Thanks!

Yep I’m in the same boat as well. I talked with financial aid the other day. And they pretty much told me that most of their ABSN students have to take out private student loans to cover the cost of the program. Most of the private student loans have a 15yr repayment plan. Also if you sign a contract with Duke at the end of the program to work for them for two-three years they will pay back $25,000 of your tuition loans. Hope this helps!
