Yeah, the only thing I really did bad in was that physical science part...who cares about rocks?!? :uhoh3: When will we ever use that earth science stuff in nursing? :grn:

I just gave up my spot at Abington...I hope one of you get a call soon!

Question to those that have applied.....

I have been out of school for 10 yrs and is currently in CCP doing my prereq..... do Abington STILL require HS transcipts? or in my case GED info?

Almost everyone does...so I would just plan on getting one. I graduated from high school in 1999 and not only did I have to produce high school transcripts but one school even made me order my (ancient) SAT score report!

OneDayAttaTime is right. I graduated high school in 1991 and had to call them for transcripts when I applied to nursing school even though I had been taking classes at a community college for the past year and a half. I believe they say it is a state requirement. I even had to dig out my SAT scores (which were not available electronically) and have them sent to my college. I don't remember Abington asking for them, but maybe they were part of my community college transcript. Good luck!

Hi All, I am new to this site and have been reading all the posts about Abington. Congrats :yeah:to all of you that have been accepted. Unfortunately I have been placed on the wait list and just sent in my request to have my application to be rolled over for 2010. I was really hoping to get that phone call and say a spot opened up but it never came. I also applied to LaSalle's Achieve program and I am applying to Harcum as well. I don't/can't wait forever, even though Abington is my number 1 choice. My friend was placed on Abington's wait list for now 2 years in a row and just gave up on them and is now going to Gynedd. I am trying to stay positive, but it is hard. I feel like I'm stuck.....this stinks. Now I look forward to a whole year of waiting....:(

I believe LSU has a cohort that starts in Jan/Spring if you could squeeze into that--only catch is that it's at Bucks campus and not Main. Good luck with all of your applications!

It's okay, I was wait listed as well, but I also ended up just going to Gwynedd-Mercy's Weekend Nursing program. This works better for me since I just started a new job, so classes won;t interfere with it. In the end, school is all about what yiou make it. My friend just graduated in May from Gwynedd and passed her boards on the first try, so I'm excited.

Onedayattatime: Thanks, for the reply. I did apply to LaSalle's program for the Bucks campus, but they seem to need at least 60 of the 70 credits completed by August 31st. As of right now, I only have 56. I know it seems like no big deal that I'm short 4 credits and I did register for the fall semester where I'm currently going. But I'm not sure if they will officially accept me because of the August cut-off. But it doesn't start until Jan 2010 and I'd be done those 6 credits by then. I dunno.....:banghead: I'm frustrated.

Mcolli02: Thanks for the info...but my question is does Gynedd require you to have your bachelors already in order to do their weekend program? A co-worker of mine is actually going there and she has her bachelor degree in art and now is pursuing nursing. I don't have a bachelor degree, but hopefully after this fall semester I will have an associate in science degree...when does their program start? Thanks...
