Abington Dixon SON : Waiting for my letter

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Hello everyone, Im new to this site. Im interested in hearing from prospective Abington DSON students. Has anyone received their acceptance letter for eve/weekend 2009 regular decision. Please let me knw. Thanks

I'm in the same position as you, I also applied to the evening/weekend program. I still have a few prereqs. to complete, so I'm hoping I can be accepted provisionally. Have you finished all your prereqs? Also, for regular decision, it says that decisions are made on or before Feb. 15th, so we still hav some time.

Thanks for responding to my thread. Yes, I finished all my prerequisites, and I also went on my interview. The interview went very well, but I just want my letter now. Did you interview yet? How many classes do you have left? Did you take either the TEAS or NLN exam if so, what did you score?

You should receive a letter. I have 4 classs left, and I scored a 75 on my TEAS exam. I have a plan to finish all my classes if I were selected, but I figured I'd just apply and see what happens, I didn't get an interview. I actually think because of the classes I have left I might not be selected compard to someone who has everything completed. What did you get on your exam?

I also scored a 75% on the TEAS. I know I will get a letter its just that this entire ordeal has been a rollacoaster ride full of emotions. Abington is the only school I applied to. I know two people that interviewed there last year and was accepted for the 2008 class. My scores were great. My grades were great, and the interview went well. If I'm selected for 2009, my life will change forever. Becoming a nurse has always been a dream of mine, and I just can't wait to start. Good luck to you!

I got accepted to early decision evening/weekend 2009 at Abington DSON. The letters came out about one month after the application deadline, so if they do it the same way for regular admission, you may not hear anything until April. Hope to see all of you in August!

BTW - It's a skinny little acceptance letter, so don't worry if it's not a big packet like you might be expecting

Congrats! If you don't mind me asking, did you also finish all of your prereqs before you applied?

Thank-you!

When I applied, I had everything completed except Nutrition, A&P II and Micro, but by the time of my interview in October, I had finished Nutrition and was taking A&P II. I was accepted provisionally on my completion of Microbiology with a C or better.

Good luck to you all!

Did you take your Nutrition and A &P at Community College of Philadelphia? I'd like to take Nutrition first in Spring but it seems that Nurition needs Anatomy as pre-requisite. Is it right? Thanks!

I took all my pre-reqs at Montgomery County Community. They did not require A&P as a pre-req to Nutrition, but I don't know about the requirements at CCP.

Trigirl.M, the deadline for early decision is Nov 15th, so does that mean you received your letter in Dec. If letters went out one month after the deadline, then that means letters for regular decision should go out in Feb since the deadline is Jan 15th. Congrats on your acceptance hopefully we will meet in Aug.

If they do it the same way as early decision and the deadline is January 15th, then I would expect the letters to go out in mid-February. Since you already know you are getting in, maybe you'll get your letter sooner. Congratulations and I look forward to "meeting" you in August; my name is Melachai.
