Just out of curiosity for those who have taken both already...did you find A+P 1 easier/harder than A+P 2? Less/More interesting? Or basically the same?
I was just looking over what I will be doing in A+P 2 and it just *looks* more interesting on paper...I have found A+P 1 to be pretty easy as long as I study like crazy...meaning I don't find the material hard- just a LOT of it!
So how would you compare A+P 1 to A+P 2?

I had a year long anatomy course and then a year long physiology course. I liked them separate.
Anatomy was the most difficult but also the most fun - I loved dissection theatre.

I'm still in A & P I (online with an on-campus lab), but our professor keeps telling us that A & P I starts off easy and ends hard (nervous system), and that A & P II starts off hard and ends easy (reproduction). I'm taking II in the fall (again online) with the same professor.

At our school, we haveI and II of them combined into a 15 week "anatomy boot camp hell" (instructors words on the first night of class) and the level has stayed the same throughout- fascinating but very overwhelming. Some things came easier because of interest- loved cardiovascular, endocrine left me confused. You absolutely get out of it what you put in. I failed a test that I only spent about 8-12 hrs studying, got a B on a test that I worked maybe 45- 50 hrs on. 2 more weeks, and I have 2 major exams left- whew!

I took A and P 1 last semester and I am just finishing up A and P 2 for this semester. I was told that if you survive A and P 1 you are good to go for A and P 2. But I thought A and P 2 was harder, the nervous system took a while to really understand and the kidneys were pretty tough also. The thing is I had two very different teachers with two very different teaching styles, so it's kind of hard to compare the two classes. I think I enjoyed A and P 1 more, I liked learning about the heart and respiratory system, but everything is pretty interesting there is not one system/subject that is boring!
Hope this helps!! :) :) :)
Thanks
I guess it really comes down to teachers+ what's involved. See, at my school we did nervous system in A+P 1 ...and I will have cardio/resp in A+P 2. I will have a different instructor as well for 2 then I did for 1....that does make me a little nervous
Our A+P 1 was
Anatomical Terminology
Histology
Integumentary System
CNS
Electrophysiology
PNS
ANS
Special Senses
Endocrine System
Skeletal System
Muscular System
My A+P 2 will be
Digestive
Urinary
Respiratory
Cardiovascular
Lymphatic
Immune
Blood
Electrolytes/Fluids/Etc
Reproductive

ANP 2 was much more interesting than ANP 1 although you have to work twice as hard. Some systems are interesting and some are boring. I am just finishing up with ANP 2. We did not have a lot of lab time, my professor wanted to focus on the book work.

I found A&P I to be more memorization, this muscle is here and does this etc.. where A&P II goes through more of the why and how things are excreted, transmitted, released, etc.

I have finished both A&P 1 and 2. I wouldn't say one was harder than the other, just more work. I found A&P 1 took more time and work than A&P II. In my A&P I, we covered all the bones, and muscle which was time consuming memorizing all the muscle was by far harder. I though A&P II was pretty easier.

I used an online website and it helped a lot....the key is just to do a little bit every night....it makes things so much easier:P

I found A+P II to be more interesting. You can definitely relate more of the info to diseases you learn about in nursing. My school was great in coordinating what we were learning in A+P w/ what we were learning in nursing. It helped a lot.
Good luck
