  1. Hi! I am a new RN on an Intermediate Care/Telemetry Unit. I passed boards on June 18th and have been on my own for a month. It has been a bit scarey but I have loved every minute of it! Nice to meet everyone.
  2. Hello. My name is Stephanie. I just graduated in May and passed the boards in June. I work on an Intermediate Care Floor/Telemetry unit. I really enjoy it and cannot believe I am actually done with school and passed boards! Working on the unit has been great but I have so much more to learn! :smiletea2::balloons:

  11. I am starting at VU in the Fall of 2005. If anyone has any insight into the AS degree Nursing progam, please share them :chuckle
  12. I'm just scared in general. I don't want to fail. I don't want to hurt someone. I am supposed to be there to help. I am 31 years old with two children (2 and 5) and a husband. Will everyone think I am a failure for going back to school.
  13. :balloons: :rotfl: I have a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education B.S. Degree in Elementary Education Have taken several business classes after teaching for five years but ultimately decided that I want to be a nurse. I begin working on my A.S. Degree in Nursing this Fall full time.
  14. :balloons: :chuckle No, you are not out of your mind. I am in the same situation. I have a 5 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. I just finished up ANP 1 and 2 while working 40 hours a week. My husband is a contractor and a part time deputy. It never failed that he would have to work when I needed to study for a test and the kids would go crazy wanting my attention. I would read them a book or play a game and have them start playing together then I could study. If you give them a few minutes they are fine. I start full-time this fall and it makes me very nervous. More than 1 class at a time, although I will not be working full time. I think we just need a support system and encouragement more than anything. :rotfl:
  15. :chuckle :chuckle ANP 2 was much more interesting than ANP 1 although you have to work twice as hard. Some systems are interesting and some are boring. I am just finishing up with ANP 2. We did not have a lot of lab time, my professor wanted to focus on the book work.
