Daaaa... I tried not to cry but the FEELS were too strong... What a beautiful story... I think the mom knew as well!

Thanks for posting. Lovely and sad. We get a lot of cardiac moms at our hospital because we have an adult ICU and the local tertiary NICU doesn't. We try very hard to take stable babies to these moms as much as is feasible. Such an important part of family centered care.

Very touching story!!! This is exactly why someday when I feel it's the right time I will become a NICU nurse as well. I want to wait a few years though. My son spent 10 days in the NICU and I need to do for other parents what was done for my son, my Husband & me. I will never forget the amazing, loving things done. Having a child in the NICU is the scariest experience ever, the NICU nurses that took care of my son will always hold a special place in my heart! And yes I remember them all and he's almost 11 yrs old...

Very touching on many levels. Thanks for sharing. (I did get something in my eye).
