A&P1 study group

Are there any A&P1 study groups out there this semester? And if so when do your classes start? My class start on 1/21!!!

my a&p teacher emailed the class two histology websites that have great images and practice tests.

I finally got my first test back and I got an A!!!! I am so happy! I've never studied so hard in my life. It was such a hard test. We have another test in two weeks on the digestive system and the skeleton.

Anyone else one the skeleton yet? I just never dreamed our skull had so much to it. There is so much information to learn. He even wants us to know all of the names of the holes of the skull and recognize them from the inside and out. We also have to learn all of the parts of each bone - for example: the tibia has the lateral condyle, medial condyle, tibia tuberosity, anterior border and medial malleolus. I am very overwhelmed!

Good Job stc254!!!! It's always nice to hear about people getting good marks.:yeah:

Here is something that I'm trying and it's working out. I bring my digital camera to class and take pictures of the actual bones and models. I can then study it on my computer, which blows them up to a bigger size on my screen. Some of it takes a few tries to get a good shot. Try to get shadow to show up by having light on one side. Turn off the flash, it washes out the details and annoys classmates. Take several pictures at different angles of the same spot. So far it's helped, but the skull is tricky because of all the wierd angles.

i actually took my camera to class, and took pictures of histograms of tissues this past class, and i have to say that it was a pretty good idea.

the pictures came out nicely, and im going to try to identify them to help me study for the exam i have on monday

Histology is making me want to drop out of school and become a barista at Starbucks!

:anpom: I got an 'A' on my first A & P lecture test!!! I studied SO much for that test. I'm just happy the studying and sleep deprivation paid off. Now, I can relax :tbsk: ......well, until tomorrow at least. Then I'll start reviewing the chapters on the integumentary system and on bones & skeletal tissues.

I had my first lecture exam yesterday... (i studied real hard for it) but im pretty sure i got some wrong answers so a 100 is impossible for that lecture exam right now....

on monday i have this tough lab exam on histology of epithelium, connective tissues, and a few mroe chapters... im real scared for this lab exam, its suppose to be even harder than the lecture exam i just took...

I had my first lecture exam on Tuesday. 100 questions, and I found it fairly easy. Then I found out I made an 87. :( It's not bad, I just really wish it was an A because I have to have an A in this class!

We have a lab exam this coming up Tuesday..I'm more worried about this one (even though it counts less than lecture exams). Especially the part where we have to identify tissues under microscope (there's like 30 different kinds almost!).

Does anyone know of any good sites that can help with identifying the tissues? I'm going to try and go to the student practice lab on Monday to see if I can look at them some before the test, but it may not be possible. *stress*

Great links mariposabella! I have a tough time too figuring out which is which. We start histology this week and I'm excited and lost at the same time! Those links should help, thanks again
