  1. That makes me feel a bit better. I have all 7 points too and I was really hoping to hear something today. I'm so tired of waiting!
  2. Nothing for me yet. Did anyone applying for evening/weekend get their packet?
  3. Well, I just called today to ask about the dates for the TEAS test and she said they don’t have any dates yet and the info will be in our packets. She also said to give them THREE MORE WEEKS - I almost dropped the phone – I had her clarify that packets will not be sent out for another three weeks and she said yes to give them until then.
  4. I applied to Penn Valley’s evening weekend program for spring 2012 and have not heard anything yet either. I got a postcard a few weeks ago that said we should hear something approximately 6 weeks from the end of the application period. It kind of worried me when I got it – I’m afraid that means they had a lot of applicants. I think you posted this a week ago have you heard now?
  5. We just had a test on the skeleton. I felt like all I did was study for that test! I was so worried I'd forget the names when I got there, but I think I did okay. Anyway, what helped me so much was a site called getbodysmart.com and a couple others I can't remember. I printed each bone on a page with no labels and then printed a key with labels. I numbered them and just quizzed myself over and over. Writing things down makes me remember them so when I missed one I would wirte it a couple times. I learned one bone at a time. Studying this way worked for me, I didn't forget anything I had learned. Once I knew them all I quizzed myself once a day leading up to the test. Good luck!
  6. I finally got my first test back and I got an A!!!! I am so happy! I've never studied so hard in my life. It was such a hard test. We have another test in two weeks on the digestive system and the skeleton. Anyone else one the skeleton yet? I just never dreamed our skull had so much to it. There is so much information to learn. He even wants us to know all of the names of the holes of the skull and recognize them from the inside and out. We also have to learn all of the parts of each bone - for example: the tibia has the lateral condyle, medial condyle, tibia tuberosity, anterior border and medial malleolus. I am very overwhelmed!
  7. Mariposabella GREAT job!! I took my first test yesterday. It was over 4 chapters. It was SO much information! I am positive I at least got a B. I really hope I got an A. My teacher is very unogranized so I don't know when I'll know what I got. I am glad to have the first test over and now I know what his tests are like. He had, I think, 7 questions that were short answer essay and the rest were fill in the blanks or matching. He also had a bunch of microscopes set up and we had to identify what tissue type was on the slide.
  8. Since this would be your first, you really don't know how your body will handle pregnancy. My pregnancies were without complications, BUT I had horrible morning sickness. With my first two, I was sick 24/7 for the for the first four months. My third (and LAST!!) I was sick the whole nine months- it was so awful. I had to take a cup to puke in everywhere I went. I'm saying this because I can't imagine the stress of studying and school feeling the way I did. Everyone is different though, my mom had great pregnancies and my sister was sick like me. If you really want a baby now it may be worth the chance. There will never be a perfect time to have a baby - there will always be a reason why it's not a convenient time. Babies are a lot of work, but they are worth every second!!
  9. My A & P started on the 12th. We are using Human Anatomy & Physiology by Marieb. I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of information in the first class! He does a chapter per class. We have our first test in two weeks. I am really scared, but I'll be glad to get it over with because then I'll know what to expect.
  10. My A & P book was $190 new at the bookstore and I thought that was terrible! I found it used on Amazon and paid $104 total with shipping. Our lab book is $5.
  11. For now, my only option is one program. I will be so devastated if I don't get in. I was enrolled in classes two years ago when I became pregnant for our third child, our little "surprise blessing". So anyway, my other kids are in school but the little guy won't be in school for a few years. The program I want to get into is a two year ADN program that is offered part time evenings and weekends. They only accept applicants every two years. If I don't get in this program I will have to wait until my one year old is in school and do a one year accelerated BSN. The program I want to get into is based on points. Most points are based on our grades in pre reqs so I have to get all A's. I have three more pre reqs to take and then I'll apply in August!
