  1. That was me last Wednesday. I took the nclex on Thursday and passed!!! I gotta tell you something.... I did V-ATI through my school because it was a requirement, I also did the Kaplan and Lacharity book. Now..... You know with ATI they want you to get a 60% on the comprehensive test (for a good probability of passing), well, I got a 56% on it, I retook it and got a 62%. I seriously had my doubts because all of my classmates were getting high 60s-70s... I got a 61% on the Kaplan CD that came with the book. I thought I was going to be the only one in my whole class to fail... NOPE! I did it, and you can too!!!!!!! You can do it!!!!!!! Just have a positive attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell yourself that you will pass! and you will!!!!! Let us know how it goes! Also... When I finished the test, I thought forsure I failed the darn thing.... I really did think that! I wasn't even going to do the PVT, but I ended up doing it anyway, and got the good pop up. It really helped me calm my nerves... then right away the next morning at 6:30, I found out on the BON website that I did pass!
  2. This is what I did and passed on the first try!! I went by topic: cardio, respiratory, renal, mental health, etc..... I studied the content out of Saunders 4th ed. After studying the content, I did probably 200ish questions related to that topic. I did questions from the saunders CD you get with the book, and then I did all of the chapters out of the lacharity book related to that topic. I also did questions out of other sources like mosby, and Kaplan. I focused on each topic for a 1-2 days. After studying the topics, I did as many comprehensive tests I could get my hand on, whatever I was weak in, I studied that material again. That worked for me! And now I'm a !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Thank you!!!! It is such a great feeling! I feel FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! haha
  4. hey guys. so, i lurked a lot on this sight, especially the last few months. i was soooooooooooo scared to take the nclex-rn because i honestly didn't think i would pass. i was a c-b average student, sometimes i got a's. i passed the nclex on the first try (yesterday)- with 140ish questions.... tons of meds that i didn't know, otherwise, it was all over the board... wide variety of topics, some of the stuff was way out of left field!! i didn't get as many priority questions as i thought, and probably got about 10 sata. the study material i used was saunders 4th ed., la charity book, and kaplan 2010-2011 book, and the hurst review book... all must haves!!!! last week was the worst for me, that is when i had the most anxiety. i would say by monday of this week, i started to feel pretty calm.. which i think helped a lot! i started having a positive attitude, telling myself that i will pass the nclex! i took a bubble bath the night before and just relaxed, cleared my head, and kept telling myself i will pass! i prayed a lot, and handed it over to god when i got to the testing center. i couldn't have done it without him!! i started the test at 1:00 and finished about 4:20... i went very slow the first 75 questions, then i really picked up the pace after that. i walked out truly feeling like i bombed that test!!! i got home and tried the pvt and got the good pop up. which really helped me clam my nerves, but obviously didn't take that as the final word. this morning, i checked at 6:30 on the bon website, and it was already up!!!!! it said i passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! such a relief! i believe in the pvt!!! i just want to let you all know that you will succeed!!!!!! if you believe it, you can do it!!!!!! i know you can!!! if i can do it, you can toooooo!!!!! best of luck to those have to take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have a positive attitude!!!
  5. Congrats!!! I would really like to see your study plan!!
  6. Thanks again everyone! Your advice and support really means a lot to me! My husband and I still haven't made a final decision, but we are leaning towards waiting. I know that God wont give me what I can't handle!
  7. Thank you everyone! You are all soooooo right.
  8. Hello everyone! So, I'm having a little situation here. My husband and I got married last summer, and for the past couple of months now, all I can think about is having a baby. I am 25 yrs old.. junior year nursing student, and realize that it is probably not the best time for me to become pregnant... if I want to finish school on time that is.... and idealy, I do want to graduate on time.. but on the other hand, I want a baby sooooooo bad, it's all I can think about.. and it doesn't help that I am taking an OB-Peds class this semester. My husband sort of feels the same way I do. Are there any of you out there that has had a baby during school? Is it doable? or should I completely block it out of my mind for another year and a half.... just looking for some advice. THanks. :wink2:
