A&P1 study group

Published

Are there any A&P1 study groups out there this semester? And if so when do your classes start? My class start on 1/21!!!

Specializes in (Hopefully one day..) neuro/urology ^.^.
My class started last Monday, Iam using this same book on Wedensday we finish chapter 2 and start on Chapter 3 and do our second lab. Its soooo much information to remember.

Yes, it is a lot of information to remember..and it's only going to get harder! :p

I have a pretty good teacher for A&P..he repeats, repeats, and repeats! Makes things easy to understand. Goes around the class once or twice in lab and asks everyone questions..Very helpful.

I'm bad though, I have class in the morning tomorrow and I still have an entire chapter to read, but uggggh..I'm just feeling so lazy!

My A & P started on the 12th. We are using Human Anatomy & Physiology by Marieb.

I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of information in the first class! He does a chapter per class. We have our first test in two weeks. I am really scared, but I'll be glad to get it over with because then I'll know what to expect.

You guys have such a better class...we BARELY did anything the first (really second) day..he talked about everything BUT A&P..and to top it off..the computer connected to the projector didn't work..so we didn't even have slides.

Our first lab is tomorrow..we're already dissecting.

I think my professor is very unorganized..and the only way I'll learn much (not just pass) is if I do reading and learning on my own..:(

i also start tomorrow! 1/20. good luck on your first day!

My A & P I class started on Jan. 12th. I'm intimidated by how much info there is to learn & remember. We're using the book by Marieb. So far we've covered Chapter 1 and very briefly skimmed Chapter 2. Our instructor is leaving it up to us to cover Ch. 2 pretty much on our own. We start Chapter 3 tomorrow & will stay there for about the next 2 weeks. Has anyone found a way to retain the textbook info? I'm taking notes on each chapter. Time consuming but it seems to help me remember more. Any other suggestions?

My class starts 1/24 and I am using the book by Martin. I am interested in an online study group.

Specializes in SNU/SNF/MedSurg, SPCU Ortho/Neuro/Spine.

I used the saladin book also!

it is great!

we had to do all the before you go on questions!

our teacher had us bring everyday, all the "before you go on" questions from the saladin book answerd, as home work! that was 10 per cent of our grade!

although they were a pain, and some times we had like 40 of them in one chapter, and it took us all night long to answer all of them, it helped us a whole great bunch! it made us start to think critically!

i do recomend for whoever is taking the saladin book, to go over, and read on every chapter, throughout you will find boxes that says

Before you go on, on every box, there is 5-10 questions...!!!

My book has something similar, but 3-5 questions at the end of each section (probably amounts to something like 25-30 questions per chapter. So far, I like the book---the sequence of learning makes sense to me. I also like the fact that the answers to the questions are in the back of the book, so I can make my flash cards from that.

I'm using A&P by Saladin. Here is a link to the publishers site. You can do the extra stuff for free too.

Did you buy your book from the school? We're using Saladin AND Tate (go figure!) and I'm trying to find a cheap Saladin book.

I think I bought the book online somewhere, I can't even remember where, sorry. There is one right now on Amazon sellers for 105.00 plus shipping new.
