First Test today.

The majority of the test was from notes. A tiny bit of the test was on the powerpoints I studied for 30 hours last week. The rest of the exam was based on information we never could have studied for. They were not even critical thinking questions. You either had previous knowledge or you didnt. I got an A in chemistry, and the answers to some of the questions on the exam are not in our book or in any of our materials.

This is the stuff that makes me want to quit school. I dont think the science dept or my Proffesor is respecting me or takes this class seriously. This is not a game, this is my future.

I had my first test today too. It wasn't too bad - I aced the written portion, which made me happy. Got most of the questions right, too, I think. A lot of it was lecture-based, everything was on the study guides EXCEPT for the lab stuff. Here, anything we learned in lab was fair game for being included on lecture exams. Nothing from lecture goes on lab exams. I don't like it. I'll find out my grade (hopefully) on Thursday.

nohika, good luck, I hope you did great! We are having our lab tests seperate from lecture. Im taking pictures of the models and bringing them home to study.

Ours are separate too - we have our histology practical this Friday. But the instructor can slip in things like "where is pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium found?" if he wants - and he did.

Let's keep this page going. I have an exam next Friday :( and I am already freaking out. I am in AP I this spring and its already a lot of information to know. I am also taking another class and I work full-time. I am trying to retain the info, but its a lot.

Hey everybody i'm taking 11 credits this semester. The part i'm looking forward for the Nervous System, Muscles, and Skeleton. I'm trying to apply for the spring term of next year. And I just love to have a good time.:):):)

So, do you remember the location it's found in? I can't recall off-hand because we just had it in lab, but my professor did say that it would be on the test.

I think there's some in the lungs and part of the reproductive tract, but I'm probably confusing it with other things...maybe the nasal tract, too? Heck, for all I know, I'm confusing it with something else... I have my first histology practical tomorrow.

...I'm just having a really hard time with this class because it's starting to hit me that I don't really think I want to be a nurse. I know this is a bad place to admit this, but... :o

I just started A&P I about 3 weeks ago and my head is already spinning! Our first test is this coming Wednesday and I feel that everything that I've read just is not sticking. I've read the histology chapter about 3 times already and I just can't seem to recall anything I've read. I'm hoping as the semester goes on that it gets easier and this is just a rough patch for me. I need a C to pass this class for my program so I'm working my butt off... it's just a lot of information to learn in just a few short weeks.

I'm also having trouble remembering what all the different tissue types look like. For our test, he will show us slides and ask us to name what type of tissue it is. Any suggestions for remembering these?

^ For the tissues, if you can get into the lab sometime before your test, go and bring your camera! Take pictures, print them, and make flashcards!

I feel your pain and I also just started taking A&P I that started 3 weeks ago and our test is next tuesday. I feel that i'm prepare but still need to brush up on some things. My advice is to make flash cards for what chapters you are on. And work from there. See if that may help you from. I know that help me and go over your notes following reading the book. :):):) I wish you the best.

Well, hope you did well on your practical! And as for deciding which career path you want to take, I hope you find out what you want to do!
