A & P 1 Spring 2010

Published

Who's with me? I just registered!!! Registration just opened up for the spring and 2 of the A & P 1 sections are already closed... the one I chose only had 5 seats left (4 now :yeah:) . I've been putting off taking this class for years now. I's so excited to be taking this step!!!! Think I'll do a little dance

I am in!! I just registered for A&P1 and Intro to nursing. Excited and Nervous!

What is everyone doing to prepare for the spring?I have the text book, and also Anat and Phys for dummies. It's fun and informative... anyone buying flashcards? Which ones? Should I get some now or wait and ask what the prof. recommends? So excited!!

To prepare, I attacked Amazon and bought the following:

Anatomy and Physiology coloring books

Kaplan's Anatomy Flashcards

and Vandegraaff's "A Photographic Atlas for Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory", as recommended by my instructor.

I'm also wading through the excellent notes that have been stickied here on allnurses.

Not sure what will really work for me, but I am going to try EVERYTHING that might help with retaining the mass of info that is A&P.... I'd love to see what everyone else will be doing.

Specializes in Critical Care, Postpartum.

I'll be taking A&P II in the Spring, but want to give a word of advice for people taking A&PI, it's not as bad as it seems. I'm taking 3 additional classes along with A&PI this semester (Total of 14 credits) and I'm getting an A. Great teachers made the difference for me. Yes, it's a lot of studying, but overall I enjoyed the class and I hope you will too.

Thank you....i keep hearing people say it is so hard at school and i work very hard at school...*i am ocd with my grades and studying habits* that i feel like if i put the same ammount of effort that i put in my other classes i will do very well...thanks.. :yeah:

I'll be finishing up a&p I in a few weeks. It's not as bad as people made it out to be. It's just like Biology, the only thing that may get you is lab where you have to remember all the bones and muscles. There were people who were getting straight As on all their lecture exams but failing lab, so it can reduce your grade tremendously

Well this stinks, I am going to have to drop A&P1 I think, threw out my back and it's not the first time. Rethinking about going into Nursing now, so I will be gracious and give my spot to someone who can use it. Good luck to all of you. :sniff:

Hey guys i found this post and i just downloaded all the notes she put on there....and they look amazing..... need to do some pre-studying study...lol.

I'm registering the second day of registration (this coming Tuesday), and as long as you get in to a lab, they'll get you in to whatever lecture you want, so I'm hoping I'll have a fairly decent shot at things! =) Good luck to all of us!

PS, I'm at a CC and we're in quarters, so I start A&P1 in January, then go through A&P3.

Me!

I withdrew this semester so I have to retake it next semester and take A&P II during the summer or else I'll be put behind an entire year. (I'm in a direct entry program so if you pass the prereqs in the first year you move onto nursing in the second).

yea im taking it n the spring too.i took the last seat in that class.i signed up classes only 2 days after it was opened.I was so shocked.that class is going to be so intense :/ im freaked out

I'm taking it in the Spring too! When I first went to register there weren't any open sections but then my school opened another section and it filled up really quickly so I got into it. Yay!!! I just bought the Kaplan Anatomy flashcards and they look awesome so far. I'm also planning on buying an Anatomy coloring book and probably the Anatomy workbook from the "For Dummies" line. I'm actually really excited!
