I have Mariebs 8th edition.We just whipped through chapter 2 as well.I haven't had chemistry in 3 years so of course I forgot all the basics.This book is pretty easy to understand though.(: It's a lot of reading though.:)

CNA Sam, how is UF's curriculum changing?And also, aren't UF and FSU nursing pre-reqs pretty similar?

Ok,im applying to uf in the fall most likely.im a freshman,but i only need classes in the spring,summer,and fall before i can apply.Im actually applying to UF,FSU,nova,um,and fccj(safe school).Im actually really excited. (: University of Phoenix you couldve just gone there after high school for nursing.But you should get your BSN anyways since hospitals prefer BSN's anyways.

:paw: Yes,thats exactly how i feel.Im okay with people in pain,but seeing an animal hurt or anything almost makes me cry.And then if I'd have to euthanize one?I dont know what I'd do.And yes,I am young,I'm 18.Vet school totals 8 years and I need a steady job before then.Being a nurse will allow me to pay bills,and travel.I will be looking into travel nursing prior or upon graduating nursing school (:

:paw:Right now,I am a prenursing student at the local college.FSCJ to be exact.Today,I started to wonder if I should change to be pre-med for vet school.I think my passion is for animals.I love being in the hospital setting with children but I don't think its "my thing".I'm only a frshman in college but I want to decide on my major.I thought my caliing was maternity nursing(in a dream).Any advice?I know this is a nursing forum but I just want opinions.The only problem with being a vet is euthanizing animals!Please help!!!Thanks

I know UF is extremely competitive just in general.I looked on their nursing site and it says you should have a 3.3 by the time you apply if you're already at UF.Since I will be a transfer student applying what would be a competitive gpa to have by the time I apply?Right now (my first semester) I had a 2.75 due to not passing college algebra.I will be taking a class in the summer.Anyways,if possible can you kind of give me a map of what i should have for gpa? ex: fall 09:2.75 spring 10:so and so summer 10:______ fall 10:_________(is this when i start applying for nursing fall '11?) spring 11:________ Thanks in advance!!!!

I know that UF is a great place for those majoring in the medical field.And FSU is also a good school for medical fields too.Can somebody give some opinions on which is the better nursing school(please try not to be biased)?I live in Jax right now.Also,where are FSU's clinicals held at?And what are the "vibes" u get from the campus?

why dont you volunteer at Nemours?I am volunteering there right now,and I love it.They really love their volunteers.In March,I am planning on going over to Shands to volunteer n their NICU unit since that is the type of nursing i want to be in.

i know this was like a year ago but i looked on youtube and the head is not supposed to be dunked as well.just the body while the parent is holding the head.

i just emailed the llady in charge of volunteering at Shands Jax.Currently Im at nemours but I want more patient interaction prefrerably with babies.Hopefully I'll get into UF or FSU nursing programs so this willl look really good.Anways the lady said there is a long waiting list to volunteer there.What exactly do you do?Do you ever have problems with the parents?I heard there have been several rapes in the garage,have you had any problems with crime over there??

People keep talking about many points they have or don't have and I have no clue what these "points" mean.Can somebody please explain to me whatt points are and you can get them?I'm at FCCJ if that matters at all.Thanks in advance!

i like all animals but i took a&p in high school we had to dissect cats as well.at first,i wanted to cry seeing a dead cat about to be cut up by me.but after that part,cat dissections are really fun!and you will learn so much about the muscles and organs and all of that stuff.
