  1. i'm in the same situation as you. I have many pre reqs but didn't finish college. Hopefully i am applying as a transfer student this upcoming spring. I am applying in August.
  2. Hey everyone, congrats to all who were accepted. I am applying for spring 2012 semester, I don't have a bachelors so Ill be a traditional transfer. I'm so excited, I am going to apply early August. I live in Florida I would love to live in NYC, new environment , new experiences. Any suggestions for students going through the application process?
  3. Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
  4. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me or give me some advice on the application process. I am currently finishing up my pre reqs and this fall will be my last semester so I will be done by spring. I am not a 2nd degree student so do I apply as traditional transfer student for spring or do I wait until the following fall semester? I know the spring semester is the accelerated program for 2nd degree students and I don't have a bachelors degree already. Also do you recommend me apply as early as possible and sending my letters of rec, personal statement and transcripts all in one envelope and mail it myself? Sorry for the questions, I live in Florida and no one here is applying out of state, so I really get as much information as I can from this website. Thank you
  5. I am just wondering, I'm a college student in Florida I wanted to apply to NYU for spring 2012. I have been reading in places that the admissions essay is quite important. I did well on my nursing pre requisites, but I messed up on my other pre requisites and because of that I am scared I wont get in. Also can I get some feedback on my essay. I went to the middle east this past summer and was at the wrong place at the wrong time. A protest broke out in Israel/Palestine when I was in one of the check points, people ended up getting shot and hurt. For the first time I felt useless and I never want to feel like that again. I need nursing to help me over come that and help make a difference in someones life. If i was a nurse I would of known how to help those victims but I didnt, and its a huge regret of mine....that's basically my essay and why I need to become a nurse. Is that okay for a admissions essay? Thank you.
  6. First off, I would like to say thanks to everyone who commented, you all were great help. I have made my decision and I know Im making the right one. Thanks again.
  7. Hi, I am signing up for fall semester and I want to take micro and anatomy together. Is there anyone who took them at the same time and if you have how did you like it? Also would you recommend it? Thank you
  8. Thanks everyone, I appreciate it.
  9. Thanks for the info. My top choices are south university or university of Tampa. I am praying that I get accepted to either one. Just scared about the whole applying and accepting process.
  10. Hello, Today I took my CNA class today and I have an online account to review all 21 skills and practice them over and over again. The teacher gave me the application to take the CNA test. I have to mail it, but I am scared that it is going to take a long time to get a test date. Has anyone gone through the same thing i did and if you have how long did it take for them to mail back your test date. Also, my written exam is going to be online and you find out you pass right when you are finished. Do you think the instructor will give me a paper stating I passed the state exam or do I have to wait till I get my license in the mail? Thanks.
  11. Hi, I am interested in attending south university. I have another year of pre reqs and wont get done until the summer of 2011. Can you please send me information about gpa, waitlist, is it hard to get in? Is it a good nursing school, and when would it e the best time for me to apply? Im deathly afraid that i wont get accepted. Also when do you apply for the fall semester? Sorry for all the questions. My email is [email protected]
  12. Hi. I'm taking a cna class on may 8, 2010. I currently volunteer at a hospital, and i have about 100 hours of volunteering in re and trauma. I would love to be a cna in the ER in the summer and have the job until i get into nursing school. The cna jobs require hospital experience, do you think my hours count as hospital experience? I have been volunteering for about three and a half months so i hope it shows im really determined and im passionate about the medical field. I just hope once im certified as a cna, I wont get a job because of the experience they want? I need some advice so please reply back:) Thank You.
  13. You should try Veterans Hospital in Tampa.
  14. Hello, as you can tell from my posts, I am trying to research about the right nursing schools to attend. I know hcc is hard to get into, and so is usf, but i don't mind attending a private college, especially if it's well worth it in the end. So i was wondering if anyone knew some info about University of Tampa nursing school. Im waiting to recieve some information from their program, but i would appreciate it if i received some addtional information from some past and present nursing students. Thanks, and again, i appreciate it:)
  15. Thats true. The only school I would consider taking out a loan for would be South University Nursing school. Thanks for the help, im just scared that I wont get accepted anywhere.
