A&P II Spring 2009, anyone?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Is anyone here takining A&P II this spring besides me? I was wondering, what have you all heard about the difficulty of this class? Do you hear that it is harder than I, easier, or about the same? I loved A&P I, but some of it was really tough for me (sliding filament theory, nerves, etc.). I did end up with an A, because I studied my butt off, but I'm hoping to be in the nursing program this spring, and I know that's going to keep me really busy as it is.

It helps me knowing that the professor for this class is pretty cute! :chuckle

ps: Are you going to Southwest or UM? Maybe i could let you know the best teacher for a&p?

I'm taking A&PII this spring also. My A&PI teacher said A&PII than A&PI will be easier for anyone who got an A or a B, and harder than A&PI for anyone who got a C in A&PI. I thought that was an interesting theory. We'll see how it goes!

Add me to the list of APII people. I work fulltime and this will be my only class. It is all I can handle with two small kids and working fulltime. I hope it is easier.

I enjoyed API, but I am not a conceptual person, so physiology was a bit hard for me. We shall see this time around

where is everyone taking it? I am taking it at ccconline

hello everyone, i will be taking a&p ii next semester (spring 09)! i just finished a&p i today with an a! i am sooo happy, i worked my butt off all semester and it finally paid off!!! i have heard mixed reviews about how a&p ii is, some have said it's easier and others have said it's harder! i think it just mostly depends on the individual! let's all keep in touch when classes start back!!!

I'm taking A & P 2 online in Spring 2009 at University of South Florida with the same professor I had Microbiology and Microbiology Lab with this last semester. I got a B for the lecture (Missed an A by 2 points) and an A for the lab. A & P 2 usually contains more physiology is what I have been told by several counselors at different institutions.

Specializes in ICU/UM.

I'm taking it. Just finished A&P I last week :yeah:. I'm actually looking forward to it because I feel so more informed about the human body after A&P I. It's interesting stuff.

I'm also taking A&P 2 during the Spring semester! I just finished A&P1 tonight, and it was a lot of work for me. I spent many hours in this class, especially our practicals. I've heard A&P2 is much easier if you're a hands on type of person ... but from what our prof said tonight was that endocrine will kick our butts ... and that will be our first topic after vacation. :sniff:

hello,

well i took a&p i during a summer session (6 short weeks) and got an a, and i took a&p ii during a regular fall semester and struggled for a c. this was a few years ago and i have decided to retake a&p ii this spring. i feel that it has a lot to do with the professor. for example in a&p i i had the same professor for lab and lecture and for a&p ii i had different professors for lab and lecture, and this was sometimes confusing. so this time i am taking a&p ii with the same professor for lab and lecture....... lets see how it goes. good luck to everyone

I started A&P 2 this Monday! First lab is next Monday and first test (blood) is Wednesday. I am so very excited!:D I made a B (almost an A! like two points away!) in A&P 1 and I have the same teacher. Everyone agrees at my school that A&P 2 is easier so I am PRAYING for an A as I'm sure many of you are! Lol.

Also I am taking this along with Micro (anyone else taking that double whammy? :chuckle)and Psych and Human Growth. Eek! I'm so excited though!

AP2 and Micro here along with Nutrition. I have already read the chapter on the Endocrine system ahead of time. It was a bit challenging. I had to take several breaks and also refer to my other AP book. It depends how much of the systems and pumps etc the professor will go into.

Specializes in ED.

I took A&P1 last semester and am taking A&P2 this semester, so we'll see. However, everyone I've talked to, including my lab professor, says 2 is easier at my school. I found that for me, the lecture class was more difficult than the lab, and I found the lab incredibly easy. I had to work hard, but it came naturally to me, so we'll see how 2 is. I must say, that at first glance, I find these systems more interesting, so maybe that's a plus and why everyone that I've spoken to found it better.
