A&P II with Micro...has anyone done it??

Published

The only 2 pre-reqs I need to complete is A&P II and Micro but of course people do not recommend that you take them together. I want to know has anyone taken them together and received a passing grade (A or B). If I take one now and one later, I run the risk of having to start my nursing courses in Spring 2015 instead of Fall 2014 so it is very tempting to take them both together.

I'm doing it (with math and sociology, 17 units total)! Its difficult, and you'll have no social life, but its totally doable. You just have to study your butt off and use your time very wisely! I have a high B in micro and an A in A&P2, so its possible to do both and get good grades.

Thanks for the info! You are taking a lot of classes and if you can maintain a good grade while taking math and sociology, I should be able to do just those 2 classes. I already have no social life lol. This summer I took A&P 1, College Algebra, Eng & Comp 1 and Psyc. Everyone said it was impossible but I pulled it off. I feel better about taking them both now, thanks again.

I'm not taking AP 2 but I am taking AP 1 with micro. It's definitely difficult, but doable. So far I have A's in both courses. It's honestly just about time management. Tuesday and Thursdays are my micro classes so I focus on micro leading up to those classes. Then Monday and Wednesday is AP so I utilize those days for AP. For me, the classes kind of mix together. We will learn something in micro and relearn it in AP or vice versa.

Good luck!

I am doing it now. I have A+ in both classes as of now and I have math with an english class. My friends on the other hand are struggling who has a similar schedule to mine. I say go for it and study hard...Good luck

Thank you guys for the advice! I think it would definitely help if I can use things I learn in Micro in A&P. Science has always been my weakest subject, especially when it comes down to chemistry related material.

@illusion9376 That is a good idea to focus on those classes on separate days, I haven't thought of that. Usually I'd try to study 2-3 subjects in one day. I can definitely see how much of a difference that can make.

@LNOUVRESE I think I will go for it and just put all my effort into it.

I hope I can come out with A's like the both of you!

I'm doing it right now. I find that a lot of topics overlap. I have an A in micro and a B in A&P II. I would have an A but bombed my lecture test last week due to the fact that my soon to be ex-husband is stalking me. Too much info I know. I was so freaked I couldn't study like I should have. I have another test this Thursday and will hopefully get an A.

Thanks for asking this..... Those are also my last two pre reqs that I plan on taking next semester and together.

Some have warned me but like you if I don't take them next semester, I will be faced with not being able to start nursing program in fall 2015.

I am going for it. But gotta stay focused.

Wow that is so crazy! I don't think anyone would have been able to study in that situation. I hope everything works out. I'm so happy to see that there are some people that actually pull off A's and B's with taking them together. I hope that a lot of the topics overlap when I take them in the spring. I'm so nervous since I never do well in Science, but I'm hoping for the best. I somehow managed to pull off a B average in A&P 1. I don't know how that happened.

Totally doable! Did it last spring and ended up with an A in a&p 2 and a B in micro. Lots of work but if you manage your time, you can totally do it!

@MyOwnBlueSky I agree, we can do this!!
