The only 2 pre-reqs I need to complete is A&P II and Micro but of course people do not recommend that you take them together. I want to know has anyone taken them together and received a passing grade (A or B). If I take one now and one later, I run the risk of having to start my nursing courses in Spring 2015 instead of Fall 2014 so it is very tempting to take them both together.

I appreciate the comment. I can see how A&P 2 may be similar to Micro & I may actually enjoy them both.

Now that would see impossible, but I guess when they say you can do anything you put your mind to, it's the truth. I am extremely organized and disciplined. I think I'm going to do what you did though with creating an agenda & then budgeting time; that is a very good idea, so thanks for that. You really must be super woman working a full time job with 5 classes. In the summer term I did 5 classes, but I was only working 18 hours a week at the time and everyone thought I was crazy since the summer is a shorter term. There were days where I thought I wouldn't make it, but I did and now I'm ready to take on the next two sciences, even if it kills me :).
My friend is taking them both now plus working full time. She is doing well. I did not take them both together but I had a similar dilemma on taking A&P I and II during short summer semesters (with pressure to get at least a B but preferrably A). Everybody including our science chair were cautioning me about it I did it and did fine.
I am not saying it will be easy, but many of us are so focused and determined that I am sure you can pull it off. And worth trying as not to delay the start.
Yes, it's very possible! I'm taking both classes this semester while working full time. I only need to complete these last 2 courses for my pre-reqs and was hesitant to take both but its worked out well so far. A&P II has actually been easier than A&PI for me and Micro isn't too bad as long as you're committed to studying a lot. About 90% of my free time is spent studying but I keep reminding myself that it will pay off in the end. Best of luck to you!
We didn't do A&P I and A&P II, we did 1 semester of anatomy and 1 semester of physiology. I took physiology with microbiology and statistics and found it a completely reasonable load and earned A's across the board. The only 2 pre-reqs I need to complete is A&P II and Micro but of course people do not recommend that you take them together. I do...but of course people do not recommend that you take them together.
Don't be frightened off by the naysayers. If you're a strong student and comfortable with biological science, go for it.
Yes, it can be done! I took A&P II and Microbiology, both their labs, and two other classes this past Spring semester. I got As in all my classes, and because I didn't spread them out, was able to apply to my program (and get accepted!) without dragging it out. My school suggested I should not take those two classes together too, but I did anyways and I really enjoyed them both! Sure it was difficult some weeks, but generally I learned to manage my time well and, if you do too, that skill will pay off in Nursing school. So, if you are a determined student, go for it!!

I did it, and 3 more classes and a full time job. I received A's in all 5 classes. You just have to be disciplined and organized. I started each week with making an agenda with due dates and then budgeting time to each task. It was extreme but manageable
