What do they call you?

So kinda trivial question but I'm overthinking about my start day on Monday 9/19

So what do the kids call you?

  • Nurse First Name
  • Nurse Last Name
  • Ms./Mr. Last Name

How about teachers? First name basis? Same as above?

I feel silly thinking this hard. :bored: I'm just curious what everyone else does.

My students call me Mr. _____, the staff call me RN, as our principal has the same first name as me.

Most of the little kids call me "Nurse (last name)" but the older students, and seasoned staff/faculty, tend to use "Miss (last name)"

The teachers that are around the same age as me call me by my first name unless speaking to students.

As for the parent's: They just don't call me at all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The kinders and 1st graders tend to use nurse, my nurse, doctor, vet, hospital person, or "student's name" mom.

The rest of kids call me either Nurse last name or Mrs. Last name(which still seems weird to me)

The staff call me by my first name when talking to me, but Nurse last name when talking to the kids.

I still have trouble switching between calling the teachers by Mrs/Mr/Ms and then using first names in conversation with grown ups.

Younger kids call me "nurse" and the older ones usually Mrs. (lastname). Teachers that have known me awhile call me by my first name unless talking with a student, then its Mrs. (lastname). I have 3 kids in the school I'm in, and their friends that I know well use my first name also. They grew up doing that, so I'm not going to make them change now.

I prefer to go by Ms. (last name) or Nurse (last name).

Almost all the other nurses in the district go by Nurse (last name). I think the kids should address me with the same level of respect as their teachers and administrators. It becomes difficult since some students and staff are not comfortable with my name.

At my middle school I am Ms. Last Name. At my elementary school I am Ms. First Name.

Teachers and I call each other by our first names when in private conversation and the above names when kids are present.

I'm informal. I really don't care if kids call me by my first name.

Kids: Nurse first name

Staff: Nurse first name, first name or Mr. Last name (I'm fine with any of these)

The kids call me Mrs. Last Name (or Aunt First Name as I have 3 in the building with me that I am their Aunt and some of their friends think they should be able to call me that too. It all works for me). Almost all of the staff calls me by my first name unless we are in front on students.

I'm a medical aide, Certified Medical Assistant, as much as I explain to everyone I meet That I am NOT a nurse, because I know if I'm not a nurse, I can't say I'm a nurse. But no matter how much I correct it, I'm always, "Nurse Amethya" or plain "Ms. Amethya" to the kids or the staff. :sniff:

The public sees anyone in a role like a nurse as a nurse. Don't sweat it. There are those here that would have you physically reinforce the point, but all you can do is offer, which you do.

I go by Miss Last Name. I wanted to go by Miss First Name because my last name is hard to spell and hard to say but I was told it was unprofessional.

The teachers call me Miss Last Name and just regular first name when the kiddos aren't around.

And, to some kids, I am "doctor" :roflmao:
