Did Johnny have an 'Egg McMuffiin'?
Funny story - when I was still in the schools, I got an emergency call for Epi-Pen use. Used it, girl responded well and quickly, and while 911 was enroute, I asked her what she was allergic to and if she knew what she'd come in contact with to cause the reaction. This is a high school, and a gifted/talented one at that. She hadn't really been in a proper state to speak before, and no one around knew. "Oh, eggs," LD says. And what did she have? "An Egg McMuffin." Sympathetically, I asked if she'd had them make it without eggs and they got some in there or if she was so allergic even contact would have done it.

"Oh, I left the egg in," says LD. "I haven't had a reaction in a long time, so I thought it'd be okay."

"And have you also avoided eggs that whole time?" asked the curious Audreysmagic.

    LD: "...yes."

    GIFTED. AND. TALENTED. PROGRAM.

I guess I'm just confused as to why they can't just say, "Can you call on Johnny (or use his initials)?" Does this happen pretty frequently? Do you have meds at school to give him if the answer is no? I guess if it happens a lot I'd just offer to give it every day at school.

True. We have an administrator that likes to talk...a lot...and corners our principal for long periods of time. Our code word for her, when we see her buzz in, is Cadillac.

honestly, i always thought in schools that had no phone system that there should be some sort of IM system so that we could discreetly message the teacher to find out if Hannah and Becky and Julia are here because they are truly sick or trying to skip a 6th period math quiz
I would LOVE an IM system. There are so many times when I would like to discreetly ask a question to staff (has bobby been coughing "all morning" like he says or is it because it's math time)

So yeah, this is what we decided on. I told them I can't play guessing games and we have too many kids on meds for me to have a different code name for each kid! SO just tell me who it is!
I know they like to talk on the walkie-talkie, and sometimes it is really funny stuff, but other times....I just shake my head! LOL
